True audiophile speaker cable at a very competitive price.

This is my 2nd purchase of Va-den-hul 'Clearwater' speaker cable.

Having tried QED, Audioquest, and other speaker cables, I find this Clearwater to be the best all-rounder.

My speakers (Epos M5i's and matching centre speaker) are a touch bright. So after some upgrades (Denon AV amp and then Emotiva 5ch power amp), I decided to replace the Cable Talk 3.1 speaker cable I had been using for years since I had been noticing that with certain recordings, the M5i's would skate perilously close to sibilance. This was especially the case before I added the Emotiva power amp, as the Denon AVC X3700C can be pushed to harshness when driving all 9 of its channels, and even with only two channels driven, harshness and brightness are never far away.

I had bought the CT 3.1 cable many years before when I had a pair of Tannoy Mercury M2s (from 1997) specifically to "boost" the slightly recessed top end of those speakers. These cables remained in my system over many upgrades, which says something about how good they are, especially at their price (in the region of £2-£3 pounds per meter, if I recall correctly).

Right from the off, with no "burning in", the Clearwater cable dialled back the top-end brightness of the system just the right amount to retain its crispness while banishing any hint of harshness or sibilance. At the same time, the rest of the frequency range received a modest but detectable boost in detail resolution and clarity. The result is certain instruments now project into the room, while music and dialogue in films are now clearer and more present than ever.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the Clearwater. The cable has done *exactly* what I was hoping it would do. Futureshop provided a speedy service (so I got the cables before Xmas!), and all cable ends were neatly and professionally stripped and ready for my banana plugs.

Great cable enhanced by specifying end connectors for amp and speakers. It is easy to run without the inflexibility that larger, thicker cables suffer when running cables around corners.

A good cable at a reasonable price.

Best price by far, and delivery is very quick. Only four stars have not had a chance to connect up and try, but there is no reason to expect anything bad after reading many reviews.

Good cable, but I have better. It could improve with play. I like the Chord cable better!

I bought these to replace Audioquest Rocket 33 speaker cables.

I found the bass to be more defined with the VDH, and the treble had less shimmer. Also, they deserve their name because they are very clear. I would not go back. I tested them with a Marantz model 40N and Totem Staff speakers to give some context.

Good quality cables. Happy with the sound quality. Futureshop was very helpful.

I would recommend both the product and the shop.
