Mark at Future Shop recommended this interconnect after I told him what system I had and that I wasn't overly impressed with the amp I had on the home demo.
The amp I was currently using was a £1,000 PA amp from my dj'ing day's and the amp I had on the home demo was a £13,000 Bel Canto black ex dual mono.
I was very disappointed that there was very little improvement over the PA amp.
Quiet, cleaner sounding, but no improvement regarding imaging, soundstage, life, and energy.
That's when I spoke with Mark, and he recommended this interconnect and Audioquest Rocket 88 speaker cable (I have yet to write a review).
Changing the speaker cable made a huge difference and improvements regarding imaging soundstage, life and energy with plenty of new detailed information that I've not heard before.
Adding the Ultra black 2 interconnect between my Mcintosh Men220 room correction and the Bel Canto amp really opened up the soundstage and throughout the whole frequency range, the music is so much smoother... especially poor recordings.
With great recordings, the Ultra black brought out textures and even more details, giving the music a sense of realism and quietness.
For me, the way I see it, if you have to struggle to hear differences to justify making the purchase, it's not worth it.
With these cables including the speaker cable i didn't struggle hearing the difference... it's such an incredible difference that I've gone from wanting to send the Bel Canto amp back... to keeping it because now I can hear why this amp's price is £13,000.
I am highly satisfied and highly recommend these cables.... and the same goes for Future Shop... professional and very helpful.

I have these cables between my pre and power amp. (see review below). They now have about 400 hours on them, and they continue to amaze me. I think that they are just now fully burnt in. Everything is clearer, but the big difference is the bass. Better defined and deeper than at 200 hours.
This new pair is installed between my DAC and the preamp. At first, I couldn't tell much of a difference from the previous cable that was in the same price range. They now have over 200 hours on them and are just coming into their own. They now sound like what I was expecting. Clear and pure treble, the midrange is beautiful with voices sounding like the singer is in the room with you. The bass is deep and extremely well defined. Every note from a bass guitar is individual and not muddled together. Outstanding.
I tried them between my phono stage and my preamp. Good but not great. I am using van den Hull The Second, and they have a beautiful analogue sound that I prefer. The ultra Blacks were a touch too analytical for my taste. It's not the cables; it's me, I guess.
These are outstanding cables that need a long term to settle into a system. The 96 hours that Futureshop offers are to get you started.

Previously, I found Atlas cables to provide a good middle ground in terms of performance and price, but I always felt my system had more to give and that the sound was somehow restrained.
Over the years, I've demoed many cables and could never hear a discernable difference that would justify spending more money until I plugged in the Ultra Black Ⅱ from Tellurium Q. Wow! The first thing I had to do was turn down the volume from my usual setting. The air and space around instruments is something I always listen for, and these Ultra Black Ⅱ interconnects deliver this presentation by the bucketload. Whilst I've never said that cables don't make a difference, I've never heard anything, even from extortionately priced cables, that made a big enough difference to warrant the huge price tags, even if I could afford them.

I received them a few days ago. They had been burned in for 96 hours; thanks, Futureshop, an excellent service. I installed them between my pre and power amplifier. They are replacing cables at the same price point. After the ultra-black speaker cables, I just had to try them. I have read that they need a lot of burn-in time, so I wasn't awaiting much.
I was so wrong. They sound amazing! Clearer, more defined, more refined, more natural, etc. After a couple of weeks of additional burn-in, I can't wait to hear what they sound like. It doesn't seem possible that they could sound any better. I am so enamoured with them that I have ordered a second pair between my DAC and my preamp. After another 200 hours of listening and adding the second cable, I will finish this review. I might need a third between my phono stage and preamp?? Amazing product.

Iv now owned this TQ cable Ultra Black II XLR for over 3 months now its taken this long to settle in and 'cable burn in' - at first listen it seems ok good detail sounds nice, but ..120 hours or 1 Month later i noticed a 'big air' around the Ultra Black II creating a wide open soundstage with imaging that iv not heard or noticed before with this or my previous cable (VDH The Hill Hybrid 3T unbalanced)
Now after 3 months and around 300+ hours of listing the 'burn in' period seems to have settled down (Tellurium Q cables are notorious i read with long burn in, its a very sturdy well constructed cable which really does feel expensive and looks like will last years
So! compare this to my previous or old cable (which cost £150 more than the Ultra Black II) and doing A ~ B listening the TQ has on all types of music 'more Air or Space' nice subtle details to the music not harsh just natural whatever is in the music you will hear, the Bass gets that Air/ big Space effect as well - which gives at times startling Stereo effects which does become addictive once you hear 20% more from your recordings or source music you want it all the time
is it worth nearly £600? well is any cable worth over £150 really up to you and your ears (and that long, long cable burn in (including a 48 hour burn in before delivery)
To my ears the +10%~+15% of everything extra I'm now hearing is a very enjoyable music experience over what i used before ~ so yes for me its a keeper 9/10 for TQ with the Ultra Black II

I bought this cable to upgrade from the original Black cable. What a difference. Great clarity, separation and detail across the whole bandwidth. I would recommend the free burn in offered by Futureshop as from my experience TQ cables take a while to burn in.

I was very exited to receive these hyped cables but they fell flat ones connected. Ended up with Chord Signature Tuned Array that did everything right, times 4 for not even double the price tag. Try before you buy had saved me some $$$ but the experience is worth more then money so Ultra Black was not for me but maybe for you !? (used from moon LP310 phono stage to ARC LS27 )

Loved the original Black interconnect, but the Ultra Black II XLR is a huge step-up. I connect them between my CD players and amps (Moon and Luxman) and get an increase in soundstage, detail, bass, vocals, everything just sounds fuller. Ignore people who tell you that cables don't make a difference!

These cables are amazing. I bought these interconnects XLR cables, after reading all the reviews and praise about them. ! and like the many people before me, I was totally blown away by them, from literally the very first moments I started playing the first CD, my system sounded unbelievable, the music sounded all most like it was 3D, I was hearing stuff on the CD that I never heard before. I just didn't believe a cable could make that much difference? , these cables help my system sound like the sound that I've been looking for, and they have only been burnt in for 48 hours by the good folk at Futureshop ,so I can not wait to hear them when they have been fully run in ! also can not wait to replace my speaker cables with the same products. Over the years I have changed cables many times, always loyal to Chord, even had their top top cables with very high end equipment, all good, great sound.
I have now sold all my equipment, bought Roksan TT and Roksan Blak Amp and CD. I changed my cables to these Ultra Black XLRs, I also use the Speaker cable as well.The sound is so smooth, relaxed, yet full of detail, I use Proac DT8 speakers, the soundstage is wide and deep, I am getting older now, matybe I need smooth and detailed, but most of all, it all puts a smile on my face, something my wife will never understand.
Really great cables, value for money. What price do you put on happiness.

Excellent cables. I use this cable in place of a Chord Epic to connect pre and amp (Marantz AV), in addition to the TQ Black II speaker cables and TQ Black Diamond RCA (between external DAC and pre). I am convinced that the TQ cables have something special and are really able to raise the sound level of a system, more than other brands emblazoned for the same price.
They express the maximum when combined with each other, working in clear synergy. In my case I find that they works very well with the Marantz AV system, emphasizing the typical smooth and round Marantz sound. I found improvements in HT but I was especially surprised by the fluidity and extension in listening to music in two channels. Listening to the AV8802A's Pure Direct mode, the Black Series TQ cables show deep and extended bass and full and detailed voices; there is a slight "few brightness" in the treble (for example, listening to Al Di Meola's guitars) which immediately stands out if you are used to silver cables. Switching to Auto mode with Marantz equalization, the treble come back bright to the right point (at least according to my taste) and thanks to the Tellurium cables, the music is reproduced in such a pleasant, detailed and balanced way that does not seem to come from an HT system.
They express the maximum when combined with each other, working in clear synergy. In my case I find that they works very well with the Marantz AV system, emphasizing the typical smooth and round Marantz sound.
