Tellurium Q Blue II Speaker Cable - Custom Length

Please note: this product is terminated by Future Shop's expertly trained engineers

Tellurium Blue II is the entry-level speaker cable that was designed to be the companion to Tellurium Q Black II and has been described by one well-known manufacturer of speakers as having “good mid, but softer sounding” than the Tellurium Black. While having great detail and phase control is less revealing of a system than the Black.

HiFi World has described the most noticeable qualities of this cable as being, “a welcome absence of muddle..” and, “a more neutral, focused, precise aura settled on the music. In fact, the Blue cables exhibited a tremendous sense of control; something that I’ve never heard from any cable at this price point.”

"I can't believe how much a set of Tellurium Q wiring can get closer to high-end cables for repeatedly higher sums. One big WOW!"

Product of the Year Award March 2021 - Audio-Video PL

"“Tellurium Q Blue II offers a fantastic and great value upgrade for those looking for good sounding and well put together loudspeaker and interconnect cables. They have a balanced and pleasing sound to them that allows you to enjoy the music without wanting to dissect it or feel that you are missing anything. They are still in the system if that is any indication.”"

About Tellurium Q Made in United Kingdom

Tellurium Q cables offer a unique approach to cable performance, focusing on minimising phase distortion, a common problem inherent in all cables. The Tellurium Q team understands that all signal path materials act as electronic filters, impacting the naturalness of vocals and overall audio quality.

Instead of ignoring this issue, Tellurium Q embraces it and engineers cables that provide a clear path for the signal, aiming for the most natural sound possible with current technology. Their construction involves multiple stranded conductors of varying materials, dielectric materials, and geometries. Every detail, from solder mixes to plating thicknesses, is carefully considered.

Tellurium Q has developed three distinct families of sound to cater to different customer preferences: the Tellurium Q Silver range offers silver-like characteristics without harshness, the Tellurium Q Black range (including the Tellurium Q Black Diamond) provides transparent and lifelike reproduction, and the Tellurium Q Blue range adds a slight warmth to balance brighter systems. Each range is designed to enhance the audio experience uniquely. They strive to offer a clear, transparent, and natural listening experience and invite customers to hear the exceptional results of their work for themselves.

Having entered the Hi-Fi scene in 2010, Tellurium Q has won several coveted awards and global recognition. With their extensive range of top-tier cables available in 37 countries, they've accumulated 154 exceptional reviews and 14 'Products of the Year' awards from international Hi-Fi magazines. They have twice received the 'Queen's Award for Enterprise' in recognition of their remarkable export growth. Tellurium Q's uncompromising commitment to excellence ensures its products are not just good or average but exceptional, offering customers the best available in its price range.

Shocked how good these are!

I started out with QED XT40i cables as a starting point for my new system back in July.

Naim Nait 5si
Quad S2 speakers
Denafrips Ares II
Bluesound Node (2021)

I then then tried a pair of Witch Hat Phantoms which were far too revealing for my humble digital system, too much zing in the HF, and really exaggerated sibilance. I think they are more suited to the higher end Naim gear, so I have returned them.

I've read a lot about Tellurium cables, so after my experience with the Phantoms, and reading the description of the Tellurium Blue II; its warm forgiving sound and suitability for non-high end systems I took the plunge.

I was worried that the description from Tellurium re: warm and forgiving may mean lack of detail and clarity, but no, I needn't of worried.

These cables are smooth sounding, but I wouldn't describe them as overly warm. All the detail in the music is there, with great separation of instruments and vocals, and they really bring out the ambience of a track. What did come as a shock, especially after about only 30hr playtime through the cables; I had the house to myself this afternoon, no background noise, so settled down for an hour or so of intent listening.

Firstly, for the first time since I've had my system, the sound stage is no longer confined to in between my speakers. In my mind's eye, it's around 1 to 2 feet on either side. Secondly, on some of my music, and this is the first time I've ever experienced this, my speakers "disappeared". I've read about the effect, but never thought I'd experience it with my set-up, and wasn't sure if this was even possible, but there you go, who would have thought, it's a thing.

I would recommend these cables to anyone with a similar costing system, especially if it's all digital, it really smooths out the sound in a most pleasant musical way. I liked my system, although at my budget level it's a game of compromises and it isn't perfect, but the Tellurium Blue II's have helped me love my system. I've been on a journey building it, but I feel I can stop listening to it critically, and now with the TQBlue II's, sit back and enjoy the music.

As always, fantastic service from the FutureShop staff

Tellurium Q Blue II worth the cost ?

Ordered two 7 Metre lengths from Adam who was friendly & knowledgeable and received them the following day. The new cables were intended to replace QED Silver Anniversary XT used between a Sugden A21aL and a pair of Castle Harlech S2 speakers (cd player is Micromega Stage 3) in a second system. Once connected I have to say I was less than impressed with their sonic reproduction which sounded veiled, flat and uninvolving. The cables were left to settle in for a few days playing Radio 4 but didn`t seem to improve in any way and the SA XT was refitted which improved things markedly with a faster more dynamic sound. The Tellurium may well suit budget audio systems as it would smooth out proceedings but at £16.50 per metre it`s not really aimed at that level. Determined to find some redeeming feature the Telluriums were installed on my main system (Linn LP12, Croft Vitale, World Audio K5881 & Focal 816V`s) but again the sound became compressed and very uninvolving. My conclusion is that I prefer the faster, dynamic and detailed presentation of QED SA cable, however the SA is very revealing of poor systems and some people find it too honest. So unless your system is forward sounding budget do yourself and your bank account a favour and invest in some QED SA instead.

Response from Future Shop
19 Aug 2021
Thank you for taking the time to leave the review. We note your cables were ordered without plugs and therefore the cables were not eligible for the free burn-in. This cable usually performs better with plugs. The banana plugs make superior contact compared to bare wire. With bare wire, not all the strands are in contact with the post and this can lead to loss. With plugs, the conductors are usually in full contact with the banana plugs and this, in turn, has a 360-degree contact with the binding post of your equipment which means the signal will transfer from the conductor into the plug and from the plug into your equipment with minimal loss. Also, bare conductors fully exposed to the air will oxidise over a period of time leading to a loss in the quality of the signal.
