Synergistic Research Orange High-End Slow-Blow Fuse
Synergistic Research's Orange range of fuses are their latest and greatest breakthrough. Synergistic Fuses are available as both 'Fast-blow' and 'Slow-blow' options and are designed for a wide range of Hi-Fi and AV equipment. The Slow-blow fuses are most commonly found in high-powered electrical equipment. They are more tolerant to high current passing through, meaning the fuse will withstand sudden high current flowing through the unit. Slow-blow fuses should be used where the equipment utilises large amounts of power, especially when switched on. For example, a slow-blow fuse can be used in power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers or headphone amps. When installing your new fuse, please ensure you test the fuse in both directions as they are directional from left to right. When the fuse is inserted in the correct direction, it will sound more detailed.

After receiving it, I put the orange fuse straight into my preamplifier and switched the system on.
The improvement, as stated by other customer reviews, is spot on. I have to consider replacing the fuse in other components now.

I have used all Synergistic fuses previously and all were/are excellent. However, the Orange fuse in my PS Audio Stellar P3 is amazing and a massive upgrade. Must be inserted correctly and needs over 200 hours before stabilising. If anyone can’t hear the huge difference then look at the rest of your audio chain and power cords including connectors.
This fuse is not only about the music but the entire performance. How can this little fuse be so transformative? Using P3 to power Naim Uniticore and Chord Qutest. The power cable to P3 has an Orange fuse in addition to the internal Orange fuse. Preamp connected directly to the wall socket with an Orange fuse. The power amp has a blue fuse in the plug (Bryston 4B3). Uniticore original power cable has a blue fuse. Now I will need 2 more Orange fuses.
This fuse is not only about the music but the entire performance. How can this little fuse be so transformative? Using P3 to power Naim Uniticore and Chord Qutest. I received a 20mm 12Amp orange fuse and put it inside the power plug for my Jeff Rowland 825 power amp. My first impression is that the sound stage is deeper, better musical instrument separation, deeper base, clearer different low frequency, more solid vocal and sweet high frequency. Yes, it meets my expectation. Any body who wants to replace your equipment , I suggest you to replace the fuse.
Lower investment, higher yield. Don't blame your equipment cos the power supply have not been fully addressed.

My hifi has been TANGO’d!!
About a year ago I bought the blue fuses by SR and proclaimed this could possibly be the single biggest leap in SQ from any single component I have added to my system.
Well you guessed it, they have just been bettered.
I first tried a single Orange fuse in my Innuos Statement and even before Burn-in it improved dynamics, warmth, weight and solidity of percussive instruments, imaging placement and layering, timbral balance and .......more than anything - Noise Floor. (Perhaps it was already run-in) This latter improvement was almost akin to adding a new power conditioning unit from a single fuse. Crazy yes? I would swear the sound not only got cleaner but even got louder.
So then I replaced 5 plug fuses that were SR Blue to the new Orange fuses. My immediate impression was disappointment. Yep WTF! I lost musicality, dynamics and warmth (though resolution was better). Upshot was that I had to burn them in but even within 24 hours I was starting to hear what I heard immediately with the little fuse in the Innuos Statement.
What this experience has proven to me ‘once and for all’ is that I could spend a further £100k on new HIFI equipment but it still wouldn’t be properly balanced timbrally or clean until I addressed the fuses in the system. Ordinary fuses skew timbral balance, add noise and haze, compromise imaging, add edginess and generally relegate the overall SQ of a system. Yes in this case I spent almost £1k on fuses yikes! ......and yes I could return them within 30 days but that isn’t going to happen. It’s an absolute no-brainier upgrade imo for anyone who cares about Timbral accuracy, believable ‘percussive’ dynamics and overall clarity. These fuses are brilliantly good.
Anyway, we’ll done SR! You did it - ORANGE is the new King.

The Synergistic Research Orange fuses were an upgrade in my system from the Blue series. I thought the Blues were one of the most rewarding improvements for the money that I had experienced. In fact the Oranges have raised the bar. My music is new again ! Could not be more pleased. And this is after 3 hours of listening. I heard significant improvement in quality after about 45 minutes.
The pain in the ass part is that I am now considering buying some of the HFT's to see what they do to the room.
