What Supra Cables say
Supra have for a couple of years been developing an ultimate USB Cable, the result was USB Excalibur. Their goal was simple: to make the world's best USB cable, with no compromises or shortcuts. Excalibur is a premium high speed cable with improved data and power transmission, a complement to the existing USB series.
Supra USB Excalibur is supplied in a black presentation bag, but you can use it to help protect the cable, if used in portable/remote situations.
Both the data pair and the power pair are optimised for their purpose, as the demands to transmit data and power are different.
The twisted data pair is made of PE insulated Silver-plated Oxygen Free Copper wires. The Silver layer is very thick, 3.8% of the total wire, for best conductivity and high velocity factor. Silver is great for high frequencies and high speed data transmission.
USB Excalibur, is optimised to handle 24-bit HD Audio and it's 90 Ohm characteristic impedance results in low attenuation.
The construction of the power conductors are totally different compared to the data pair. To avoid power losses and to maximize the conductor area we used 4 Tin-plated OFC wires in a star quad configuration. Star quad design and the seperate screen reduces any RFI greatly .
You probably recognise the design of the plugs - the USB plugs are siblings to our popular HDMI plug. Fully shielded in Aluminium.
The plugs are detachable to make it possible to route the cable within in 16 millimeter conduits including the contact. No more on-site cut-offs and re-soldering, jeopardising the typical Supra top notch performance.

This cable was an upgrade from a Monolith by Monoprice USB cable, a holdover from an earlier lesser setup.
The Supra seems to have greater overall clarity and is massively overbuilt. It's very substantial and seems to be made of high-quality cable and connectors. It is a very large diameter, and the cable is pretty inflexible, making routing it more challenging since you don't want to put any bends or kinks in it.
The Excalibur is connected to my iMac, which I use as a Roon Core and for Apple Music, feeding a Schiit Yggdrasil OG/Unison USB DAC. The Yggy feeds a Burson Audio Soloist 3X GT amp, and a Schiit Jotunhein 2/Valhalla 2 as well. Headphones are ZMF Verite Open/Atrium, Focal Clear OG, and DCA Aeon 2 Noir.
The Excalibur cable did make a noticeable sonic improvement.

Buy this cable if you are unconvinced that the quality and design of a USB cable does not affect digital audio quality. I replaced a mid-priced USB A/B from a well-known cable company with the Excalibur, and I was staggered by the immediate improvement in digital audio quality.
Firstly, the USB A and B plug is locked into place more securely in the source and DAC. The annoying digital glare I had put up with for the last two years had gone, and orchestral instruments assumed solidity and sounded more accurate due to improved timbre. The background was blacker with a better definition between instruments. Whilst I am sure that lab measurements won’t unambiguously confirm why I hear these improvements, I don’t really care as I am sure the improvements are real. Final comment - if you use digital audio, buy this cable !
