Firstly great service from Future Shop.They gave me ‘sound advice’ ! before my purchase.

For the money the cable is very good quality.I didn’t want to increase the brightness of my system with silver coated cable which is also a lot more expensive.

This cable does the job very well and I can already hear an improved cleaner bottom end which is what I was looking for.I was given some expensive ‘top end’ cables to try from a local HI-FI shop and I honestly prefer these.

I was using QED XT-25 between my Q Acoustics 3050's and my Marantz NR1200 (Amazon Music HD as primary music source) and it sounded super. Then someone who has the same speakers recommended the XT-40i so I couldn't resist to try it out. Futureshop again was super fast with dispatch and delivery, thanks guys! The day the cables arrived I played a few of my favorites on the XT-25 before I switched to the 40i and despite all the claims on forums that it's all placebo.

I immediately heard a difference. The 40i is more open then the 25. It's not Earth shattering but there is just more detail to be heard, more subtleties within a recording reveal themselves. My setup is in the budget range and I think that's where this cable shines. One of the many test tracks that I use where the difference was clear right off the bat was 'When Poets Dreamed of Angels' by David Sylvian from the album 'Secrets of the Beehive'. The intro has three acoustic guitars hard left, middle and hard right and there was more detail, more space, more 'breath' and I can go on and on. I have been using them for a week now and all I can say is that I will probably buy another run of the 40i so I can bi-wire my speakers via the A+B speaker outputs. Although marginal there is a slight improvement I noticed when using the 25 so it will only be better with the 40i!

The difference is audible and if you are on a budget and looking to give the quality of your system a boost get the 40i, you will not regret it!

Being used in an Audiolab Pre/Power combo with B&W speakers.

Sounds clean, expansive, highly detailed and smooth bass with good weight and heft. Though a tad thin Vocals are nicely reproduced. This cable outshines some of the other cables I’ve heard such as Atlas, Kimbre etc. Also very comparable against the more expensive Cables from Chord and Audioquest.

For this price this does everything very well!

My system is Yamaha r-n803d and the Klipsch rp-6000f speakers, I think the cable QED Reference xt40i will bring balance without losing detail. Super product QED and good price.

I bought 3 * QED XT40i Speaker Cables for front: left, right & centre in my setup. Incredibly prompt delivery and cables arrived securely packed.
I found a noticeable and immediate improvement in quality across: bass, mid & treble. I expect this to improve even more so with usage.

I bought the cables terminated at the amp end with Airloc banana plugs, and bare wired at the speaker ends so I could feed them through my speaker stand legs. I'd then fit Screwlocs onto the speaker end.

These cable are big & fat! After seeking Futureshop's advice, Adam got back to me immediately and all ended very well indeed. It is easy when you know how!

This cable is worth every euro.

First cable, one of the Airloc Bananas fell off upon opening the packet... they sent me another one fairly promptly which appears fine, tugging the banana plugs seem to be locked on tight now.

Cables are cables to me; this one looks nice (sounds the same as every other well made cable) which is why I bought it!

1st thing - this speaker cable is thick, I bought with one set of BP's at the hifi end but SHOULD have bought both ends with some kind of plugs. I've been breaking it in now for around 90 hours of playing time and so far, its a good upgrade from the silver anniversary in most areas. I bought a preview wire for my center (instead of kitting out and realising it wasn't the wire I hoped for) I think the clarity has improved and in the last day or so, the bass is more forward and possibly rounder (it was round before but it just sounds.. sweeter) .

I just know for sure there is a healthy improvement all round and I think it has to do with the X-Tube tech. Unfortunately now I have to upgrade 4 more speakers and two that bi wires. Such an expensive hobby but definitely rewarding :).
