Termination
This cable is professionally terminated by Futureshop's expert engineers using QED's superb 24 Carat gold plated AIRLOC termination plugs.
AIRLOC is QED's specialised loudspeaker termination method and offers the very best termination with QED speaker cables. This is a solder-free, airtight fusion between the cable and plug offering optimum signal transfer, excellent signal quality and perfect long-term performance.
QED’s AIRLOC FORTE metal banana and spade plugs deliver a superior performance over many plugs offered by rival manufacturers for the following reasons. Firstly, the plug is crimped around the conductors under high pressure using a special tool supplied by QED. No soldering is used and as a result the conductors are in contact with the plug 360 degrees which maximises the surface area contact. Furthermore, the banana plug itself is in contact with the binding post again at 360 degrees. The net effect of this is it maximises the signal transfer from the plug into your equipment and hence a superior performance. When bare wire is used not all the conductors are in contact with the binding post and as a result some loss occurs.
Unfortunately the metal barrels for the AIRLOC spades were discontinued in 2012 however we still use genuine QED’s AIRLOC spade plugs with genuine QED heat shrinks over the spade plugs. This ensures every QED speaker cable comes fully terminated with the best of QED's engineering.

Ordered custom length with banana plugs for speakers and spades for the amp. Initially, I was totally let down when the spades just fell off the speaker wire. I would have expected the wires to be fixed securely. Having faffed about, I decided to ditch the spades and replace them with plugs. I didn't expect the wire to be so stiff and springy, either.

I ordered this cable on a Friday for next day delivery. Futureshop said they were short-staffed due to COVID but nevertheless they still managed to send out the cable on the same day. They only charged me the Royal Mail first class postage rate but still sent by DPD. It arrived on Saturday as I wanted very well wrapped.

First impression of the cable is that it's thin
First thoughts was that it didn't have any bass and was bright sounding
Random access memories daft punk, not the best recording since the bass is distorting a bit, the cable plays bass and the highs are pleasant to listen to
Exodus Deluxe edition bob marley, good bass and still have some sharpness,sparkle to the highs (thats how its recorded) but not to much considering it's a new cable, most speaker cables gets slightly softer in the highs after a week or 2.
Born in the usa Bruce springsteen,for the record it is, it has an okay bass (not a bass heavy record) a slightly bright sounding record, a bit toughter than the rest in the highs at high levels.
The ragpickers dream mark knopfler pleasant highs, different league than the 3 first records, again still better bass than the thickness would indicate.
I wonder how big the difference is between the non silver micro and the silver micro version,if its worth the price difference buying the silver micro over the non silver micro.
I bought them with QED AirLock Banana plugs (2x4 meters), have a Denon RCD-M41DAB with Mission QX-2 on isoacoustics stands, rest of the cable's are Qed perfomance including usb cable an optical using tidal hifi
The cable sounds to me best with well recorded music as if it's a bit analytic or slightly bright on some records,music (mabye the silver makes a difference in the highs compared to the non silver cable, which it should do in the highs) bass better than the thickness indicates, nothing negative to say about the midrange, clear sound.
For the money a good cable, mabye someone on a budget should try the non sliver micro since it's about half the price.

I use this to connect compact satellite surround speakers for my AV set up. It is reasonably priced and can be trusted for reasonable performance being that it is made by QED. Due to its colour and size it can be easily 'hidden' against a pale coloured wall if tacked up in the corners.
I don't know if other manufacturers make a similar sized cable in the same price bracket but this was bought to match my existing cable as part of adding front surround speakers.
Fu-tureshop mounted the Airloc plugs perfectly and the bare ends were stripped tidily as well. I did request if Futureshop could 'tin' the bare ends but this request was unfortunately ignored so I had to do this part myself. Cable was received in very quick time so overall pleased.

I have recently purchased cable for my centre speaker of my 5.1 system using Quad speakers. The advice I received was second to none and made an amazing difference. The clarity, the top end, just amazing. So, now I am getting the lounge redecorated and new flooring I have decided to Again I got great advice from the tech guys in FutureShop replace and upgrade the rears as the cable runs through the underlay. No question of where to go.

I was simply looking for a longer cable to replace my Chord Campana which is a bit too short for proper routing to my rear Atmos speakers Klipsch RP-140SA. With the Micro, my Klipsch Atmos really comes alive with better dispersion, detail and accuracy I never heard before. I really wasn't expecting this at all as the Micro has same gauge with Chord Campana and furthermore running a few meters longer. I was worried the gauge was too small for a run of 15m each and there might be loss of dB but Futureshop assure me this cable was specifically made for a longer run. I'm glad I listened to them. i ordered these cheaper QED micro copper cables knowing they were thinner and lower quality than my old silver xt aniversary cable but i was suprised how a rigid copper cable could pick up details the silver failed to... for less money! speakers are Q acoustics 2010i running a simple mini system Denon cdr-m38 and my living room only measures 5x3m... silver were bit to strong on bass and adding panache while these copper were sharp, pouring out the music as raw and unaltered as possible... no gimmicks!

I am not one to write reviews, but I feel I must write in about this product to warn those considering buying this product. It will make you believe the phrase "cheapest upgrade you can buy".
Years ago , I bought a little all-in-one Sony for the kitchen. Usual setup with usual supplied speaker cable. Whilst ordering from this site for interconnects and speaker cable for a home cinema I am building in the garden, I suddenly, for no reason, bought 5m of this stuff for the small Sony. When it arrived, I found the cable is deceptively thick, but I had luckily also bought pin plugs for both ends. (btw, I tried soldering these in and found it impossible. Probably my lack of soldering skills, though). Not a good bend radius either.
Once manipulated in, I turned the unit on. I can only describe it as being "blown away". For a start, the unit was pumping out an extra 3db (from where I know not), and the FM radio sounded like it was Sky delivered. The iPod sounded like a CD, the range somehow being increased with punchy bass and clear treble. Fantastic. Made my £100 Sony sound like my Denon in the sitting room. No kidding. I honestly thought my ears wouldnt notice, after the years spent in clubs, but I couldnt have been proved more wrong. My regret is that I found this cable when I was ordering for the cinema. There is no way I could (or would) spend this cash on 80m of this, but I will always know that I 'settled' instead of buying the QED Silver Micro.

Probably my lack of soldering skills, though). Not a good bend radius either.
Once manipulated in, I turned the unit on. I can only describe it as being "blown away". For a start, the unit was pumping out an extra 3db (from where I know not), and the FM radio sounded like it was Sky delivered. The iPod sounded like a CD, the range somehow being increased with punchy bass and clear treble. Fantastic. Made my £100 Sony sound like my Denon in the sitting room. No kidding. I honestly thought my ears wouldnt notice, after the years spent in clubs, but I couldnt have been proved more wrong. My regret is that I found this cable when I was ordering for the cinema. There is no way I could (or would) spend this cash on 80m of this, but I will always know that I 'settled' instead of buying the QED Silver Micro.
