Reviews for QED Reference XLR 40 2 XLR to 2 XLR Audio Cable Pair

Although I was informed after the order that the cable would be quite late because QED is not in production at the moment, the cable was delivered long before I was promised. At first glance, this is a very well made product. I use it to connect amplifiers and preamps. After the first few listens (LP or CD) I find that I have improved the sound by about 30%.

The price of the cable is acceptable, the workmanship is very good and that is why I recommend this QED product. The Futureshop should also be commended for its free "burn in" service.

As always the service and products offered were exemplary. Receipt was exactly as requested and very professionally organised.

I can only say that these xlr cables are very good sounding. I had other cables at the same price range that were not so good sounding. So 5 stars. I can recommend these cables.

The QED Reference XLR Analog cables are being used in my home recordings system and I have found that the sound quality of my vinyl transfers (to hi-res digital audio) have greatly improved to the point where I no longer have to search for a 'better' cable.

These cables are the best I have heard, and that's good enough for me.I have tried very many brands and types of cables - these are giving me the best sound quality results that I have been searching for (for many years).

I've been using QED cables a while ago and they are really fantastic: amazing build quality. I bought this XLR to connect my new Cambridge Audio CXA81 with my Marantz UD7007 and really worth it. The sound has improved with more space, high frequencies more crystalline and deepest low range.

The service from Future Shop has been simply perfect. In just one week I had my item at home. Highly recommended.

Decent cable for the money. I bought this cable to link my pre-amplifier to a new subwoofer. I intend it as a stop gap until I can afford to upgrade to one of the Nordost range which I have been using for years in the main part of my system.

The QED XLR 40 pair certainly seem to be solid well constructed cables and appear to be performing well. Delivery from Future Shop was spot on!

Because of the available balanced interface in my CXA80 and CXN. I gave it a try after 2 years with a fairly good RCA on this kit.

QED XLR gives me a fuller sound, balance deepness and solid bass. Most importantly the darker background that allows me to hear better music.

After reading so many good reviews about Future Shop I thought I would give them a go myself, and I'm very happy I did. Very helpful and friendly staff and I look forward to doing business with Future Shop in the near future.
As for the cable's, I'm also very happy for the money. They certainly look the part and build quality looks very good. But it's the sound that's more important to me and so far I'm very happy. I can't really give a full review as the cables have been installed into a completely new setup and it's not yet fully run in. Swapping them with a pair of standard RCA cables it's very easy and clear to hear the difference... Most clearly the bass is so much tighter and controlled.
I highly recommend Future Shop and the QED XLR cables.

These replaced the phono version of the same cable, as I was trying balanced outputs on my amp and streamer. Well worth the effort. More fulsome, detailed sound. They lock in position also. I took advantage of the free cable burn in and suggest you do the same. Recommended.
