Reviews for QED Reference Audio 40 Cable Pair

I bought 3m of QED Reference Audio 40 Cable Pair RCA and 5m QED XT40i Speaker Cables to match. The price was a steal, so it didn't bother me to try it on a whim. I laid it out to warm up two months before critical listening on my reference $100,000 audio system.

A play of my fav albums on these duo QED Cables yielded terrible, terrible, harsh, fruity, bright, forward and in-your-face presentation.

I then put the QED cable duo on my entry audio kit for $3000. Hmmm... Everything was too bright, forward and terrible again, so I pulled out the RCA interconnects and put on some DHLABS silver reference RCA interconnects to check with the QED XT40i speaker cables. Wow... I concluded the QED RCA interconnects the culprit.

Maybe the 3m length was picking up interferences, so I put it on the phono stage where other high-dollar interconnects hum and make noise. Nothing was here on these QED 3m RCA. So the shielding is very good, but the cable itself is flawed sonically on presentation.

However, the QED XT40i speaker cable bought a smile and enjoyment of music.

I never thought interconnects could make such a difference.

I have a Cambridge Edge NQ with monoblock x2 and Focal Sopra n.o 2 speakers.

Stunning sound. Enough said.

These are the best cables for fidelity and build quality at this price point. Nothing else in the cable business is even close The value is outstanding for the price.

Upgraded to these cables over my stock pro-ject x1 cables and got the 48hr burn in. The improvement in sound is chalk and cheese. Such a vast improvement in bass and overall sound. Coupled with a nagaoka mp150 cartridge my vinyl spinning is now exactly the pleasure to listen to I was hoping to achieve.

If you didn't believe cables could make such a difference then please think again.

I test many cables, but this one is a very good one. Good match with XT40i. Really the best choice quality/price. He needs a try.
