I have been using QED's Supremus cables for my left and right speakers, and since I added a centre speaker, I was looking for cables about 1 meter long for it.

However, there did not seem to be any short Supremus cables available, so instead, I ordered this 1-metre Genesis Silver Spiral cable, which seems to be close in sound quality to the Supremus. Two of them for bi-amping connection.

I ordered on 5/26 and received it on 6/6, with a 4-day burn-in, which means it took a net 7 days to get to Japan. I was very impressed with the quick shipping and delivery.

I was pleased with the cables, as I could detect little difference in tone between the left and right speakers and the centre speaker, which I had been worried about.

Overall, I found them to be a better value for money than the Supremus.

The cable I was using was also expensive, so I was satisfied with it, but when I replaced it with this cable, the quality of the mid-bass was greatly improved, and the grade of the entire audio system improved by more than two ranks.

I don't know whether they improve the sound, but if you want some great-looking cables to complete the look of your system, then these are definitely some of the most well-finished cables around.

I upgraded my centre and fronts with the Silver Spiral. I was initially hesitant as I had the QED Revelation on my centre channel and bi-wire silver anniversary XT QED's going to the mains. The family easily noticed the increased soundstage and depth in the centre, commenting on the dialogue depth and clarity (Klipsch RC64-III). The voices were fuller, with a more transparent mid-range and a soundstage that felt wider than when used with the Revelation.

Replacing the silver anniversary XT on the mains was an even bigger jump which was noticeable while watching movies / TV and unmistakable when listening to music. Everything was better: depth, bass and midrange.

Build quality from FS staff was amazing. I am very pleased with the purchase.

I have upgraded from the QED XT40i speaker cables I had previously - which play weak in comparison to QED Genesis spirals. This might not be a good starting reference (as I think they are weak). You won't realise XT40i are playing poorly, though, up until you switch up to Genesis Spiral – even though the anomaly I had with them was heard (I thought it was the amp initially).

Firstly, I am an IT architect with a solid electrical engineering background, lurking on audio science forums and have seen all possible 'cables-do-not-matter' videos on youtube. I wanted to prove them all wrong.

The below review thus might help cables deniers to jump ship and invest. I have the QED Genesis connected via spades-spades and, later on, spades-bare wire (I cut spades on the amp side). In short - go and BUY THEM. You won't find anything better unless you pay 1.5x or twice the price. They also look fantastic but are annoying to position because they are too hard to bend. Not a big problem for me, though, as I have speakers 1.2m from the back wall, and you should too!

By switching to Genesis Spiral, everything improved, thick bass, clearer treble, warmth, body to the music, and most importantly, the dynamics are now balanced across the spectrum and have not escalated to the super crazy height I had with XT40i - which I think is an anomaly on the cheaper range of XT40i. The XT40i speaker cable could also not produce such clarity or bass as these Genesis do!

I am now a 100% cable believer, as I have done tests with my family on two separate systems!

My equipment is:

Marantz Model 30 + Aria 926 -> the difference with the cable switch to the Gensis Silver Spirals was shocking.

Arcam SA30 + Aria 906 --> amongst many, considered a match made in heaven. Again the improvement in performance with the Genesis cables was shocking as well. They were a great fit too!

However, I think the voice is a bit too neutral. Hence I am giving it four stars, as I lost a bit of magic in Focal's voice presence.

You do not need any A/B blind tests, trust me! Music plays on another level, but this review is mainly about the fact that the cables make a difference.

Items well received in the timeline.

A clear sound without turbidity spreads widely and deeply. However, the sound is not cold and light but has warm energy and density. It has great expressiveness in all registers but is especially beautiful in the treble. It was like my speakers had been upgraded.

The problem is that the cable is thick, stiff, and heavy. If you use it for lightweight amplifiers or amplifiers with weak terminals, you need to devise a way to support or suspend the cable.

Also, it would be a good idea to order a longer length.
