IsoAcoustics Gaia Series Threaded Isolation Feet

These multi-award-winning isolators by IsoAcoustics could be a significant step in unlocking the true potential of your setup. With three different models to cover a range of weights, as well as a handy calculator on their website (see below), these isolators will boost clarity and widen your sound stage.

Please Note: the Gaia isolators come with thread adaptors for the 3 most common thread sizes which fit the majority of speakers. If the required thread size for your speakers is not included, then please contact Future Shop and we can supply alternative thread sizes with your Gaia's.

What GAIA say

The GAIA isolators are machined units that incorporate IsoAcoustics’ patented design to provide a high degree of speaker isolation, while resisting lateral movement and oscillations, to maintain alignment with the listening position. Internal reflections from the hard supporting surface are attenuated resulting in greater sound clarity and openness. The soundstage blossoms to open up a three-dimensional image of natural, spatial sounds.

Optimal results are heard by installing these units with the logo facing the listening position, or rotated 180 degrees, to align the isolators with the speaker’s motive forces, lift and place the speakers into position as the GAIA lower isolator will adhere to the supporting surface.

“When a speaker is placed on a hard surface, secondary internal reflections result. Any artefacts of this smear that is similar in the two channels are perceived to be in the centre, causing the sound stage to collapse. The GAIA series of isolators eliminates this smear resulting in a larger 3-dimensional sound stage.”

Gaia III

Crafted with the vision of providing extraordinary acoustic performance, the GAIA III is the union of aesthetic visual design and acoustic engineering. The small compact design delivers unbelievable acoustic isolation that will bring out clarity and openness from your speaker as you’ve never heard.

Designed for floor standing speakers and subwoofers weighing up to 70 lbs (32 KG), the GAIA III will provide more openness and clarity. Structural borne noise is greatly reduced while internal reflections from the hard-supporting surface are attenuated resulting in greater sound clarity and openness.

Optimal results are achieved by installing the GAIA isolators with the logo facing the listening position, or rotated 180 degrees, to align the isolators with the speaker’s motive forces. The GAIA III provides a high degree of isolation while resisting lateral movement and oscillations to maintain alignment with the listening position. Lift and place the speakers into position as the GAIA lower isolators will adhere to the supporting surface.

The GAIA’s are threaded into the base of the speaker or subwoofer to replace the existing spikes or feet. Threading the GAIA’s into the base of the speaker creates a strong connection with the speaker. With the top of the GAIA housing connected with the speaker and the bottom of the GAIA connected to the supporting surface, all of the energy is then managed by the GAIA’s internal isolator.

Gaia II

GAIA II is designed for floor standing speakers and subwoofers weighing up to 120 lbs (54Kg). Finished in an elegant machined dark chrome metal housing, the GAIA II incorporates IsoAcoustics’ patented design principles to deliver extraordinary acoustic results. GAIA II provides a high degree of isolation while resisting lateral movement and oscillations to maintain alignment with the listening position. Internal reflections from the hard-supporting surface are attenuated resulting in greater sound clarity and openness.

Gaia I

GAIA I isolators are finished with a machined stainless steel housing with an elegant dark chrome finish. Incorporating IsoAcoustics patented design principles, the GAIA I provides a high degree of isolation while resisting lateral movement and oscillations to maintain alignment with the listening position. Internal reflections from the hard-supporting surface are attenuated resulting in greater sound clarity and openness. The GAIA I will reveal clarity and openness from your speakers as you’ve never heard.

IsoAcoustics GAIA EISA AWARD 2019-2020

“We all know the value of isolation when it comes to getting the best from hi-fi electronics, but until you hear IsoAcoustics’ GAIAs in action, you’ll never know how much this applies to speakers, too.

Proving there’s life beyond the old faithful floor spikes, the cylindrical GAIA ‘pods’ connect into the base of your speaker, isolating the cabinet from vibration while resisting any tendency for it to move. Typically, they have the effect of lowering the noise floor, improving soundstage focus and tightening up the bass.

With a machined stainless steel housing finished in dark chrome, and able to support up to 100kg, the GAIAs look superb – and what they’ll do to your music is magical."

IsoAcoustics GAIA Hifi Pig Outstanding Product Award

“The first most noticeable difference for me when I finished installing the GAIA III was how much more"freer" the sound was from the speakers, the bass especially instantly stood out, far more insight and detailed. Bass extension was far better controlled and tighter with the upper regions being more defined and natural in presentation. My system is hardly lumpy or bloated, but a more explorative and msical nature came with seemingly more weight as the bass was almost able to breath more and felt so much less restrictive in how it interacted with me and my room.”

IsoAcoustics GAIA Hi-Fi Choice Recommended 2017

“There’s no doubt that the GAIA feet provide a high degree of isolation that gives the speaker the opportunity to breath and display a level of clarity and openness that’s easy to hear. Music just sounds right with them in place, and the price is right too.”

Totally transformed my Bowers & Wilkins 704 S3's
4 Aug 2024
Verified Buyer
In March this year, after a demo, I changed my speakers for some Bowers & Wilkins 704 S3s. However, since the purchase, I have been somewhat underwhelmed, even after a run-in period, to the point where I was seriously considering changing them again.

The speakers were fitted with the supplied plastic feet standing on solid oak flooring. Once I fitted the Isoacoustics, I could not believe the improvement in performance—a total transformation. The whole musicality has changed, particularly the bass, separation, and all the other good things.

Highly recommended!

Yes, they are expensive but they work!

I have used Gaia Isolation feet, and despite being agnostic about such things, I can definitively report that they work. They are easy to fit to replace the original spikes, and they look pretty good.

You would be surprised at the sound improvement. They do exactly what it says on the tin, which is ideal if you have wood flooring, but they work on carpets as well.

Using GAIA IIs already, so easy choice for new Speakers
30 Jan 2024
Verified Buyer
Very happy experience with GAIA IIs on the main System meant this was an easy choice for System No. 2.

The new (replacement!) speakers sit on the tiled floor, so they moved away from spikes and separate padded pucks to GAIA IIIs to a very good, possibly best, effect.

Sound quality, convenience and look all a significant step up - an ideal combination with great results.

A great product

Whether used with loudspeakers or subwoofers, the IsoAcoustics Gaia isolation feet do a superb job of controlling vibration from the speaker from reaching the floor and affecting other hifi products.

Sonically the bass is tighter with far less overhang - notes stop and start more precisely. Stereo imaging is improved in every way - height, width and depth.

Excellent product and awesome service

Paying an exorbitant price was seriously a nightmare for me as I was very sceptical about the reviews and wondered if I had indeed made the correct decision to purchase the Gaia 2 for my speakers.

After installing these onto my PSB T3, playing the very first track immediately improved the sound. I found the sound to be a better-defined bass and a better-defined midrange/treble and soundstage.

Mark from Customer & Technical Service handled and organised the order excellently, as my PSB T3 speakers required a different set of threads.

Happy indeed I am and definitely convinced as now have a huge sound improvement.

Who knew Gaia III could make such a difference
27 Apr 2023
Verified Buyer
I live in a medium-sized semi-detached house in NW London, and like millions of others, my rig is on a carpeted suspended floor.

My speakers were spiked, which of course, left holes in the carpet. The spikes have now been thrown in the bin as the Gaia III have cleaned up the SQ so much that I’m left wondering why I didn’t put them on my Spendor D7’s years ago.

Outstanding service. The product was caught up in Royal Mail Post Cyberattack. A replacement order was sent via Fed Ex to New Zealand. Dissapointing for me

Gaia ll speaker feet. Fitted to my TDL Studio 4's, re-capped and re-wired with Clearer Audio Silver Optimus cable, spiked directly into the base of the speakers, as the original steel stands were coloured.

Initially, Gaia feet appeared to sound more refined. There was less interaction with the floor and minimal vibration felt. After a few days rechecked and refined the set-up, then left it for over a week untouched. Fair to say after this time, I feel the sound deteriorated slightly in all areas.

Swapping back to spikes > was smoother, more detailed and more integrated throughout. Gaia's seemed to make the response uneven; they had what appeared to be a variable prominence in the mid/treble—described as this because of the slight variability in voices. Some voices are a bit dulled, others a bit bright, and the bass is not as smooth or extended as spikes.

Spikes are more weighty focussed throughout and significantly more detailed. Imaging was at least as good, maybe better than Gaia's. Vibrations through the wooden floor were beneficial and gave a feeling of realism and size. Bass fuller, tighter, more detailed and more powerful.

Overall, spikes are more enjoyable to listen to. Gaia's seemed to sap the detail and life away, which I initially described as refinement.

Interesting to try, and I was very surprised with the results. I appear to be in the minority with my views on these feet, but I am in no doubt about the results in my set-up/room (26' long x 12' wide). The feet did look good, though and appeared well made. Thanks to Future shop for the opportunity.

I have had bass problems for many years, no matter which speakers are chosen. The Gaia 3's have now massively reduced the problem caused by a suspended floor.

I'm using these on PMC Twenty5 24i's, which have a pretty impressive bottom end. They were on spikes and a granite plate.

Fitting these are a definite but not massive improvement. They are well worth the money and easy to fit too.

The special offer of the Iso platform for record decks included made this an offer I just couldn't refuse.

Gaia IIIs, Not Cheap but Worth the Money.
20 Oct 2022
Verified Buyer
I try to manage my expectations in terms of the sonic improvements I expect from cables, mains conditioning, isolation devices and other hi-fi upgrades.

The gains can be very subtle, but I have to say, the Gaia IIIs made an immediately noticeable improvement to the sound of my Spendor A5R speakers. It allows for a more open sound stage, more clarity and sweeter bass.

Obviously, they are vastly more expensive than a set of standard spikes, but the improvement in the sound they deliver in my system means they are worth the money for me.

For your information, my speakers sit on the Gaia IIIs on top of granite plinths, which sit on Sorbothane-type pucks on a suspended wooden floor.

Speakers were previously coupled using spikes on a wooden floor and were experiencing bass boom and vibration throughout the room.

These eliminated everything and completely opened up the sound. My 20-year-old Monitor Audio speakers have never sounded so good. Way cheaper than forking out for new speakers.

The hype is justified
11 May 2022
Verified Buyer
Buying these was a bit of a punt, and ideally, if I had a little more money and space to spare around my speakers, I'd have gone for one of the Townshend products. However, the reviews of the Gaia glow, and in particular, all appeared to consistently verify that they would fix my audio problems, namely vague and ill-defined bass.

I have ageing Dynaudio Audience 52s, sitting on filled single-pillar Foundation stands. I have a laminate floor sitting on concrete. My choice of underlay was the one with the best acoustic dampening. I didn't want spikes due to floor damage, and I'd tried Sorbothane pads between the stands' base plates and the floor but found it achieved little other than allowing easy speaker repositioning.

The rationale behind the likes of Townshend and Gaia makes perfect sense to me. For years I've felt the accepted wisdom of spikes transferring away the energy was incorrect. Transferred where?

Like many others have experienced, the Gaias did indeed solidify the bass lines. Remarkably so. It sounded like a new and far better pair of speakers. I'd also add that pretty much every other facet of the sound quality was also given a decent lift.

I wouldn't say adding the Gaias had as big an impact as adding a Qutest DAC to my Cambridge streamer, but I'm adamant that there's no better value tweak.

Gaia II Review
24 Apr 2022
Verified Buyer
First of all, the service from Futureshop was excellent, and the delivery was rapid.

OK, so this is my experience with Gaia II, in my system, in my listening room, placed under my floor standing speakers. Your experience may differ.

Prior to trying the Gaia II, I was reasonably happy with the sound from my system and speakers, although I did recognise that there was definitely room for improvement in the bass quality; it needed to be 'tightened up' as it was a little bit flabby.

I installed the Gaia II and their carpet spikes/discs under my ATC SCM40 Active speakers in accordance with all the manufacturer's guidance. This was a relatively simple operation, and it is fair to say that they are a very well made and attractive product. They replaced the conventional carpet-piercing metal spikes over a solid concrete floor. I have now lived with them for about 40 days and so have given them what I believe to be a fair hearing.

I cannot honestly say that they have made much if any, noticeable improvement or difference in sound quality over the spikes they replaced. It would seem that I am firmly in the minority here, judging from the very positive experiences of others who have left reviews, but in my case, they have left me somewhat underwhelmed. I am only left to conclude that any improvement they may bring is very much room and/or speaker-dependent.

So, for me: no 'night and day' transformation; no 'lifting of veils'; no lowering of any noise floor'; no ' jaw-dropping' moment; no more HiFi cliches. I shall be returning them.

Transformational Product!!

I bought these isolation feet after reading many online recommendations. My new Kudos floor standers sounded great, but there were issues with bass reverberation at low frequencies through the spikes to the wooden floor below, so I decided to try the Gaia II's to see if this eliminated this problem.

Not only did they eliminate the bass issue, but they did exactly what others had observed and gave me better-defined bass and a better-defined midrange/treble and soundstage.

These products do exactly what they say on the tin! Highly Recommended :-)

Definite improvement over spikes
23 Feb 2022
Verified Buyer
I've had my B&W speakers from new, and over the years have used the OE speaker spikes, then a pair of Russ Andrews Torlyte Speaker Platforms, with oak cones etc. I've been happy with the sound, but from reading reviews, I felt that perhaps I could get just a little more... I was really not expecting such a clear improvement from a set of replacement feet.

Notes are now so much cleaner and easier to distinguish. These Gaia III feet and carpet spikes have to be one of the best improvements I've ever made to my system.

I bought the Gaia3s, and the carpet spikes for my Graham LS6 stands. These speakers are thin wall construction, and in my listening space, they were a bit bass boomy. The Gaias completely solved the problem. They're expensive for what they are (though they're nicely finished and well-engineered), but they exceeded my expectations.

I can't recommend the Gaia isolation feet enough. Putting them under my PMC twenty5 24i speakers instead of the supplied spikes transformed the bass and opened up the soundstage.

Strap in...

I invited an audiophile friend of mine round to make some suggestions on how to improve the sound of my system, he suggested upgrading the mains cables (see AudioQuest Monsoon review) and, amongst other things, also mentioned speaker isolation.

I did a little research on the subject, purchased some granite slabs from my local garden centre, cut them (on a wet saw) oversize to suit the footprint on my speakers, bonded some black MDF with some captive M6 nuts to the underside.

Naturally pessimistic, I had to do an A/B test to see if there would be any discernible difference. I had one last listen to a couple of Hi-Res tracks from my speaker demo collection (Giorgio by Moroder, Oxygene Pt 2 and Grandma's Blues), then frantically swapped the spikes from my speakers to the granite slabs, replaced the spikes from my speakers with Gaia IIIs', sat them on the slabs and played the same tracks again. Honestly, the smile on my face from the result said it all. I could not believe the noticeable improvement in definition and clarity...Highly recommended!!

Everything seems better

It seems odd that installing isolation feet on a sub-bass unit results in a general improvement to everything, more fine detail across the spectrum, faster bass and an improved sound stage, but it has happened.

My sub-bass is next to the sofa and previously one could "feel" the deep bass coming up through the floor, but not any longer. Clearly, these isolation feet work. Oh, and the bass is better.

Gaia i Review

Bought these to fit to my Kef Reference 5, mainly as I'm fitting a new wood floor and didn't want the spikes. When delivered it was found that special bolts were required to fit these speakers, due to Future shops excellent service the correct bolts arrived the next day.

After fitting the Gaia 1 I found the mid range sounded more open, and the bass was cleaner. The Gaia i are not cheap, but with the sound improvements, and cosmetically looking stunning on these speakers I have no hesitation in recommending these isolators.

For many years I have been a firm believer in rigid isolation for my D7 speakers.....not any more.

Over the last 5 years I have introduced component isolation to my system using Isonoe units under my CD and Amps. The result was very noticeable and to my ears adding more detail and a more expansive soundstage. As a result I decided to try the same method of thinking to my speakers.

The Gaia units were simple enough to fit and are a nicely engineered product. Once fitted your speakers now react like 'jelly on a plate'. The base being firmly by the suction of the Gaia's feet and the top of the speaker allowed to move freely in any direction. The first thing I noticed was the improvements were subtle but that's no bad thing. These units helped squeeze a little bit more out of my D7's.

Music became a little more 'airy' with the sound stage a little more open and detailed but still keeping control of the bass. If you're looking for system tweaks to 'rinse' everything out of your equipment these could be for you.

As always thanks to Futureshop for their advice, support and excellent delivery.

I had been reading about the benefit of isolating speakers and done a little bit of research into what would be suitable for my set up and the gaia 3 fitted the bill of what I was looking for and I have to say I have Dali rubicon 6 c speakers that on the standard spikes the bass could get a little bit loose and I thought I lost a little bit of detail when listening in not saying sound was bad but far from it, love the speakers but I want the to squeeze ever bit of detail out of them and well as soon as installed sat down pressed play on Radiohead’s dark decks the detail was so focused it was like excuse the pun everything in it right place one for the Radiohead fans there, I would highly recommend the Gaia’s
