Furutech FP-TCS21 PC-TripleC Power Cable
Furutech’s α (Alpha) PC-Triple C is one of a select few of conductors that Furutech engineers have found to excel in sound reproduction. α (Alpha) PC-Triple C is made with Furukawa high-purity oxygen-free copper using a special forging process. Unlike regular OFC (oxygen-free copper), almost all of the impurities of this high-purity OFC have been removed at the micron level through a special casting process unique to Furukawa.
Purposely designed and developed for audio signal conductors, α (Alpha) PC-Triple C is flexible, strong and can be drawn into a very fine wire. This new conductor, while not single-crystal like PCOCC, features crystal grain boundaries that are almost totally free of impurities which allows even the smallest of signals to be transmitted. While PCOCC is a single-crystal conductor, it is susceptible to imperfections during production. Since α (Alpha) PC-Triple C employs a fixed angle continuous transport forging process, pressure is applied to the high-purity oxygen-free copper tens of thousands times. This ensures that any crystal grain boundaries that were present in a vertical direction become longitudinal, and the crystals become connected and uniform in their direction. This process also helps to remove the imperfections that are often found in PCOCC, which create a more conductive and acoustic conductor.
The resulting conductor has an extremely fine resolution down and through the very low noise floor, improved sound staging and image palpability, a musical, attractive, “round” midrange, tight and controlled bass, plus power and dynamics to spare to set your music on fire!

Optional Fuse Upgrade
As an optional extra, Future Shop can upgrade the fuse in the UK plug to one from the excellent, and extremely poular, range of Synergistic Research fuses. Some of the improvements you may hear include; a quieter noise-floor, greater dynamics, a more relaxed sound and detailed musicality.

After being sceptical about power cables in general but trying out my first Furatech cable from Futureshop, the best endorsement I can give is that I have now purchased four.

I have now purchased a number of these cables and can thoroughly recommend them. I hope the following will help put this recommendation in context.
This cable gives a spacious, detailed, dynamic, but generally smooth sound, and I would say it suits a neutral or even “lively” system. If you have a warm or romantic-sounding system, it may be best to audition other cables. The first iteration I purchased had gold-plated terminations, and I found this combination was a tiny bit warm for my tastes, a bit like a good tube amp. The second iteration had rhodium terminations, and this worked perfectly as my system remained neutral but with all the other benefits mentioned.
I compared it with the Audioquest Monsoon over long listening sessions, and (in my system) I did prefer the Furutech for its natural timbre. In contrast, the Monsoon seemed to have slightly enhanced bass and treble, particularly when used with my DAC. This may be due to silver-plated connections on the Monsoon compared with rhodium for the Furutech. I will say many listeners will like the effect of the Monsoon on certain power amps but it didn’t work with my Benchmark amps.

I am new to upgrading power cables but having spent kilobucks on interconnects, which make a big difference, I thought I would see if power cables were snake oil or not. Having swapped a few cables borrowed from friends, I realised they have widely different sound signatures. I won’t comment on the borrowed cables, but this Furutech is a quality build, as is Futureshops’ work on terminations. The drop-down menus couldn’t construct the cable I needed, but the excellent customer service sorted it out.
The cable had 96 hours of burn-in before delivery, and I went for the gold Furutech plugs for practical reasons. I realise these cables do require a long burn in but I have tried it with my headphone amp and CD transport.
By way of background, my system is very revealing, as it is based on studio components intended for critical listening, but in this system, with about 100 hrs burn in, I would describe the sound as full on the warm side of neutral. Bass to midrange is particularly euphoric and spacious with a sweet high end and reminds me of a good tube amp, indeed it emphasised the Class A nature of my headphone amp. I suspect this has something to do with the gold terminations.

After speaking with the guys at Futureshop, who helped me to solve the problem of supplying my Sennheiser Ambio Max soundbar with a quality power cable ( which is fitted with a figure 8 plug mounted at the rear and below the unit and therefore limiting the space for a quality figure 8 plug), I was advised Furutech produce a high-quality Rhodium plug that is compact enough to fit the limited space on the soundbar and big enough to accept this cable.
The cable replaces a Merlin Funnelweb with an IEC to Figure 8 adapter. The difference was astonishing. The sound field is much larger and immersive with deeper, more controlled bass, and sound effects are better placed and fire off with much more energy.
Superb cable and a great experience with Futureshop, who spent 30 minutes on the phone with me looking to provide a solution that worked with my Soundbar.

Thinner than the FP-TCS32 and more friendly to use. A marked improvement in sound over a bog standard 3 core cable. Importantly, for me anyway was the shielding from all the bits of equipment that adorns most households that transmit on WiFi. I used to get a click whenever my freezer kicked in/out but that has now gone.
Being thinner (that is if you call nigh on 13mm thin) the cable is more manageable and easier to attach plugs/sockets. Don`t even contemplate this cable if you wish to hide it under carpets etc, for me this is not a problem (no nagging partner) complaining about unsightly cables.

I replaced the standard cable on the CD player with Furutech FP-S032N Alpha Nano-OFC with Fi-E38 and FI-28 connectors.
The cable was already assembled, which is very convenient. The sound changed for the better, the bass became deeper and more legible.
