I bought this to replace original Clearway cable, first thing that I noticed was how much thinner it was compared to the Clearway. The silver plated strands look really shiny and are ideal as I prefer a more direct connection without plugs and silver does not oxidise like copper. Warning! this cable needs a run in! First impressions were of a brash sound and it was leaner too compared to the thicker Clearway. I kept swapping back cables, but every time the Rumour X sounded better! and clearer and there is no going back now!

Bought some Rumour X with some Chord Ohmic banana plugs as an upgrade to some old QED Silver Jubilee.
It’s an excellent upgrade and I’m very happy with both the quality and price.

Also very please with the speed of turnaround by future shop.

Ordered the Rumour X to replace Clearway I have connected to my AV setup. Before I hooked it up I thought I would compare it to my Chord Epic used with my Sonus Faber Sonetto’s for 2 Channel. With a 96 hour burn in I am astounded at the quality of the soundstage and imaging these cables reveal. Struggled at time to note any major differences with the Epic ( probably has a little less grip and instrument definition at times) but overall a winner at the price point.

Give more clear and loud compare to my previous one

I bought this cable to connect my Presonus Eris 3.5 studio monitors which I use as computer speakers for near field music listening.

The sound is spacious, stereo separation is great and there is plenty of bass, in other words noticeably elevated quality of sound compared to the stock wire. Great service from Futureshop, including the free burn in and speedy delivery!

I bought the Chord Company Rumour X speaker cable based on user reviews and was not disappointed at all. Even on a mini system like the Denon RCD-M41 with Dali Zensor Pico bookshelf speakers the improvements are very audible.

The sound is very transparent and airy and there is much more detail, it is like removing a veil from the speakers. The music sounds alive with more emotion more expressive and it involves you more. There is more sense of punch in the bass but without being booming or overwhelming and the high frequencies are crisp and bright as I like but without being harsh. The dynamics are also excellent and the sound scene is wider and deeper.

The Atlas Hyper 1.5 speaker cable in comparison sounds flatter, warmer and softer. In my opinion the Chord Company Rumour X speaker cable represents an extraordinary choice and value.

Purchased as an upgrade from old runs of Chord Carnival SilverScreen biwire. Soundstaging is terrific; for the first time I’m hearing real depth from my system. Reviews of the cable seem to focus on its dynamics—which it has in spades—and aren’t especially helpful when it comes to detail and top end. Wow, is it detailed! Paired with the Chord Epic RCA—from CD player to preamp—my system is sparkling. If you’re biampimg and have long cable runs, Rumour X is definitely a way of keeping costs under control whilst giving your separates what they deserve. As a side, even my wife noticed the improvement in sound!

Great sound - very open and transparent - in my system I can also notice more bass; the old cable must have been hiding it from me.
Excellent service from Future Shop too - burn in service is an excellent idea.

Note that Chord cables _are_ directional -- you wire them up so the 'C' of Chord is toward the amplifier...

I'm using this cable on my denon 720ae amplifier must admit the sound quality has gone better got more depth and treble its brought my music to life listening to live recordings it has given my amplifier more drive while listening to cd its given my system more quality sound is hell of alot better than my old chord silver screen which is quality cable as well I highly recommend the rumour x if you want a more exspressive sound for music

Was looking for a more discreet cable and pleased to say these sound the same as my fatter, more expensive cables.
