After all the hype around these cables they arrived and one of the banana plugs had a misaligned sling clip that meant it wouldn’t go into any of the holes it was supposed to fit. I had to use some very particular pliers to bend it to a shape that would fit and now it’s slightly looser than it should be. Not very impressed at this price but couldn’t be bothered to go through a replacement cycle because life is too short.

I have used the Chord Rumor X Speaker Cable between Dali's wall speakers Opticon LCR MK2 and Bluesound Powenode, and I am very satisfied with the result.

Before hooking up the speaker cables here, I tried replacing the upper speaker cable input on my Q Acoustics 3050 floor speakers. These speakers are connected/powered with Bi-wiring. The current speaker cables are QED XT40.

I think when I connected the Chord Rumor X Speaker Cable on the upper input, the sound image became clearer and more dynamic. I also think that fast musical parts were reproduced better.

I still think that I will be careful about replacing the speaker cable on the lower speaker input. I perceive QED XT 40 is "good" on bass.

Based on my experiences, I can recommend the Chord Rumor X Speaker Cable.

Due to furniture rearrangement, I needed longer cables for my Naim Nap200 power amp connections to Linn Majik 140 speakers.

After some research, I decided to try Chord Rumour X. When first fitted, I wasn’t sure I had made the right choice, but then I discovered the Chords are directional, and I had fitted them the wrong way. I’ve always been sceptical of the effects of directional qualities in cables, but the change after reversing them was amazing. The SQ is better than my previous cables, which are high-quality.

It is cleaner, and instrument separation is more precise. Regarding the cables’ directional qualities, this isn’t made apparent either by Chord or FutureShop, and this is my only criticism of either.

These speaker wires of exceptional value deliver a much grander sound than expected. The body of sound is widened with much-improved clarity.

I have used chord cables for over 20 years. I now need shorter lengths which is why I bought the current ones.

Very analytical. I can hear any change in components or wires.

Compared to my other cables, I can hear small details on source changes.
