I wanted to see if coax was better than optical to connect the streamer to the DC. I already had Chord Optical cable (Future Shop).

There is not a massive difference, but it feels a little clearer.

A good value cable delivers well-balanced sound with good resolution and dynamics.

I tried other cables, and the Chord Clearway cable has more separation and clarity than them, enabling you to follow lyrics clearly whilst not losing in the bass notes.

I used to use the standard USB cable to feed my DAC from my PC.

I needed a proper 75 Ohm digital coax cable to link my Audiolab 6000CDT to my Naim V1 DAC. The other cables in my Naim-based system consist mainly of Chord and QED, although the digital cable was an unknown cheaper cable pushed into service upon the arrival of the Audiolab recently.

My shortlist was either the QED Reference or the Chord Clearway, but with the Clearway boasting of the ARRAY construction as found on their (much) more expensive cables, I thought I would try it. Well, I'm glad I did.

I believe a digital cable over a 'stock' interconnect will not give night & day difference, but if your system is of sufficient quality (my Naim amps are NAC202 +NAP200DR), the sound quality came over as very subtle, in as much that during busy Jazz/ or rock passages, instruments and vocals became easier to follow making music more enjoyable.

For the money - give it a try, I think you will not be disappointed. For me, it's a keeper. The service from Futureshop, as always, was excellent. The order was processed and delivered within 24 hours. The cable was the latest batch with the new 'ChorAlloy' enhanced plating, and the packaging arrived safely.

I purchased this cable to connect my CD transport to my streamer/DAC. I am impressed by the build quality, using substantial connectors and cables. I also liked the fact that I could purchase a short cable as I wanted to keep the cable length as short as possible.

As for the sound, I can say that I believe that it's as good as my ears can detect. I don't think I would notice any improvement if I had spent ten times as much.

Replaced (much cheaper) AudioQuest Forest between my Audiolab 6000cdt and Q-DAC. It gave much more detail and transparency, giving a far more musically convincing sound.

It made a far greater improvement than I expected from a digital cable.

Chord Clearway is the best investment for clarity and detail, a former What Hifi category winner and rightly so.

It opens up the sound stage and tightens the bass, delivering music exactly how I, and I am sure many of you, like it. Well worth the investment.

I thought my CDs were missing something using standard Wireworld cable.

I upgraded to Chord Clearway cable, and wow, night and day difference. More clarity, openness and bass response. I now won't buy any other brand but Chord.

I have always believed in good quality interconnects. Upgrading to the Chord Clearway Digital Coaxial Audio Cable, although expensive, it is well worth doing. Just listening to something you know well will convince you how good this interconnect is.
