Now featuring improved XLPE insulation, it joins the award-winning line-up of Chord Company shielded speaker cables, including the acclaimed ClearwayX, ShawlineX and EpicX/XL.
Chord's design objective was to produce a cable discreet enough for easy fitting and routing, with all the performance benefits that shielding can bring.
C-screenX is just 9mm in diameter and flexible enough to route around corners with ease. It’s finished with a white outer jacket which protects the shielding and makes it virtually invisible against white skirting boards.
ChordOhmic Silver-Plated Banana & Spade Plugs
Chords ChordOhmic silver-plated loudspeaker plugs are designed to bring both the electrical and sonic benefits of silver to speaker cables.
Silver-plating not only makes sense from an electrical point of view, it can give an audibly superior result during listening tests, when compared with gold plated connectors. Plugs will also benefit from a major clean, using a good contact cleaner or enhancer.
C-screenX features multi-stranded oxygen-free copper conductors, insulated with XLPE and arranged in a twisted-pair configuration to reduce interference. The cable is then enclosed in a PVC casing that reduces mechanical noise and spaces the conductors correctly, relative to the twin-foil shielding.
C-screenX has the same characteristics as Chord's other shielded speaker cables: the ability to carry a musical signal with a genuine sense of musical coherence and involvement; shielded speaker cables bring real performance benefits to both hi-fi and home cinema systems, where interference can seriously affect sound quality.
At just £7.50 per metre and with the unquestionable performance one might expect from a Chord Company cable, C-screenX is an ideal product for home cinema systems, where often complex cable-run requirements are the norm. It performs extremely well over long runs and is easy to fit/route.

Termination
This cable is custom-made according to customers specific requirements as selected by the various drop-down options above. Future Shop’s highly experienced engineers professionally terminate Chord Cable’s using their superb silver-plated ChordOhmic plugs.
ChordOhmic is Chord’s new silver-plated termination option designed to bring both the electrical and sonic benefits of silver to your speaker cable. Future Shop terminates Chord speaker cables using Chord’s special HEXGUN. An airtight crimp is applied to the plug creating a secure and protected termination. This is a solder-free, airtight fusion between the cable and plug offering optimum signal transfer, excellent signal quality and perfect long-term performance. Furthermore, the banana plug itself is in contact with the binding post again at 360 degrees. The net effect of this is it maximises the signal transfer from the plug into your equipment and hence a superior performance. When a bare wire is used not all the conductors are in contact with the binding post and as a result, some loss occurs.
In addition to the ChordOhmic plugs, Chord has introduced a 4mm crimp-fit banana plug with premium gold plating, designed for use with the Chord Company Hex-Gun crimp tool. This crimp version ensures reliable and durable connections, providing cost-effective, high-quality performance while reducing resistance and maintaining signal integrity and sound clarity.
How to Order

Amazing that a bit of cable can improve the sound so much

I have an old-school 70s Sansui amp with old-school Kef speakers running 70s cheap speaker cable.
After doing my research, I decided to try a decent speaker cable and decided on the Chord C Screen X.
Well, what a difference it's made! My stereo sounds like I've spent my life saving on it, so I'm so happy with the results. Although I'm not so sure my neighbours are, as they can't stop playing my records.
A word of warning: I measured my old cable before ordering and ordered the same length as the new one, but the cable is so thick that it doesn't flex as my thinner cable did, so be aware of this when ordering.

I bought new speakers, replacing the old but good QED cable. I thought it was time to use some plugs instead of risking ‘splayed’ wires, so I went for BFA plugs for my Arcam Amplifier and Banana plugs for the speakers. I measured twice and was a little anxious when the cables arrived as the length was from the tip of the plug to the tip of the plug; I guess I was expecting cable plus a little more; however, all was good, and I have no complaints about the product.

Great sounding from the off, but it will undoubtedly improve as the cable 'burns in' with use; Chord recommends at least 100 hours to get the best out of the cable.
It's also directional, so when you look at the cable, you will see Chord printed on it. Ensure the C is nearest your amplifier and the D nearest your speakers.
