The new metal case is the most obvious change, though even the seemingly innocuous hinged “rubber” piece covering JitterBug’s output is crucial to JitterBug’s improved performance. That little black “door” is RF-proof thanks to the material being substantially RF-absorbing Carbon.
Employ one JitterBug in series between any computer, smartphone, NAS, streamer, or car audio system and a USB input. For an additional sonic improvement, use a second JitterBug in another unoccupied USB port—in parallel to the first—except with JitterBug FMJ’s front door closed.
A JitterBug in series with AudioQuest DragonFlys Black or Red always helps those wonderful creatures fly higher and faster. However, it’s best to experiment when putting a JitterBug in front of a DragonFly Cobalt—which itself employs some of JitterBug’s filtering, and so the two filters in series can help or hurt performance depending on specific equipment and context.

Marginal improvement at best

Recommended by a friend, the price at Futureshop was good, so I bought two for use with my laptop streaming to my DAC. Tried one in line - sounded worse, muddied things. Tried two, with one in second USB socket as suggested - no better. Tried one JUST in parallel USB socket, slightly 'softened' sound. I wouldn't say even then it 's an improvement but on some harsh recordings it took the edge off so I've kept one, but most of the time I am using the system without it as it's still seems to lose detail & openness. I think it's basically snake oil, though!
I have no complaints about Futureshop price delivery & refund policy, though - all excellent!

This particular product is treated with scepticism by some and with enthusiasm by others. I fall into the latter group as I feel it has cleaned up the sound, making everything clearer and the silences more silent.
It also seemed to increase the depth of field. In truth, compared with all other high-end audiophile equipment, this is so inexpensive that it is worth trying out—you have nothing to lose. The difference for me was clear.

I did not get the expected result in eliminating noise in my setup coming out of the USB hub connected to my MacBook M1.
The noisy point is actually the HDMI cable connected to an external monitor, and this product did not make any difference.

I must own more than half a dozen and plug them into my various systems: main system, work desk and bedroom.
I usually hear an immediate improvement in the sound, so it's a no-brainer upgrade if you enjoy better sound. I carry one around my laptop back, and the new one feels more substantial in construction and weight.

Is there anything that AQ does that doesn't work as they claim? I have been upgrading my cables with AudioQuest wire. Carbon digital from CD transport to DAC, Water interconnects from DAC and phono stage to an amplifier and Coffee USB between streamer and DAC.
I thought that the Coffee was the weak spot in all of this expenditure. It adds up! Instead of upgrading, I decided to try a Jitterbug FMJ. I was not convinced that a little plug could help much, but if it doesn't help, I can always return it and upgrade the Coffee.
It arrived this morning, and I streamed a couple of hi-rez tracks that I know well without the Jitterbug to get a feel of how it sounds. I then plugged in the Jitterbug between streamer and DAC. Same tracks and sat back and listened. A lot had changed. Bass was better defined, the soundstage was deeper, trebles a bit cleaner and instruments cemented in place. I didn't quite believe it, so I took the Jitterbug out and tried again. Everything went back to being not as clean and well defined. The Jitterbug went back in, and everything sounded better. I tried everything from Norah Jones to Supertramp to Bach guitar works. Everything just sounded better. I switched back and forth a couple more times. Same result each time. These changes are subtle but easy to hear.
I no longer will be shopping for a new USB cable. It may not work for you, but it sure did for me. Well worth a try.

I have had the original Jitterbug since it became available. It is plugged in to my Acer laptop computer which passes the signal though a QED Reference USB lead into an Arcam rPAC dac/headphone amplifier and thence into Sennheiser PX100 headphones.
The sound quality was very good so the bar was already very high. So when I replaced it with the new Jitterbug FMJ I was surprized that more detail in the music that I was listening to was revealed.
This was further improved when I plugged the original Jitterbug into another USB socket as recommended by Audioquest. So for a modest outlay I can enjoy a quality of music that would otherwise cost many hundreds or even thousands of pounds to achieve. I most definitely recommend this product.

I have a Denon Home 350 wireless speaker that has a USB port on the back for playing music files. I thought the AudioQuest Jitterbug would be a nice way to hopefully improve the sound. Sadly, it does not work well in my case. When I connect my USB thumb drive that contains the music, playback often fails after a few seconds. When I connected an external SSD via the Jitterbug, it was not "seen" by the speaker at all (in the HEOS app), plugging the SSD directly in the speaker worked without issue. I am sad this has not worked for me, and I have contacted FutureShop that I will be sending the Jitterbug back.
As for sound, what I could hear sounded nearly identical to using my speaker without the Jitterbug. If there was an improvement, it was very subtle.
