- Cable Compatibility: We regret to inform you that we cannot burn-in cables with stripped bare ends or BFA plugs. In order for cables to undergo the burn-in process, they should be terminated or have connectors.
- Timing: Cables will be burnt in for the selected period after processing your order. For custom-length cables, the burn-in process will occur after they have been terminated by the manufacturer or our engineers unless specified otherwise in the product description.
- Availability: Future Shop provides our cable burn-in service free of charge, but its availability is at our discretion. While we strive to fulfil all burn-in requests for the specified time periods, please understand that during exceptionally busy periods, we may be unable to meet the demand due to limited connections on the Nordost Vidar cable conditioning machines.
The Nordost VIDAR cable burn-in machine integrates three key functions into one operation:
- Charge Neutralisation: It eliminates charges that accumulate around the cables and their insulation, ensuring a more balanced electrical environment.
- Deep Conditioning: The machine provides a wide band and deep conditioning process that affects the conductor core, resulting in changes to the signal transmission through the metal. This deep conditioning enhances the cable's performance.
- Ultrasonic Surface Conditioning: The VIDAR machine utilizes ultrasonic waves to condition the surface of the conductors, optimizing their contact and overall conductivity.
The VIDAR employs a proprietary combination of composite and complex signals to condition the cables. My Hi-Fi is modest but good, and I was experimentally using two runs of different cables to bi-wire speakers; changing to AudioQuest bi-wire cable removed the fuzzy bloom I was used to and rendered more clarity and focus throughout the spectrum, more ambience too on orchestral and chamber music.
The space in which the musicians were playing could be heard. Excellent for a budget cable. The cable is a bit stiff, which is ok and very manageable on my 3 metre runs .

Fitted both cables after purchasing them separately and started testing this weekend. Early days but to me the speakers definately sound more expansive with some of classical music and acoustic pieces. I'll get on to the heavier rock stuff once they have been run for a few weeks.

Having been testing many cables, some of them rather expensive ones, I finally found these Audioquest - really cheap - an excellent choice. Sound is always very well balanced, and quite neutral. I bought this to replace the cheap Cambridge symphony for my surround speakers. Sound is much better balanced and complements the rocket 11 on the centre speaker.
I couldn't resist trying them on my two channel tube system, and the results were remarkable for a cable of this price. Sound stage was excellent with very good bass and imparted an engaging fluidity throughout the mid. I would be happy to keep this cable in my two channel system, although I'm not sure it surpasses my Sound string next gen cables, which are considerably more expensive. Over the years, I've found speaker cables to be a bit 'hit and miss', this one is definitely a hit.

Bought for my PC sound system- Cambridge DacMagic+, 2x Rotel RB03, biamping Mission 751s, with cheapo market 'loudspeaker cable'. Chunky, but not great...
This cable has made a huge difference. It was pretty good before, but the improvement is as night-and-day as if I'd changed the speakers. Every part of the frequency range is better- deeper bass, fuller sound, better stereo imaging, wider soundstage.
Probably the best value for money upgrade I've ever made, and made and delivered by FutureShop the very next day. Can't go wrong with that!

I purchased the non-bi-wired version of this speaker cable last year to hook up my main hi-fi and having been very impressed with the sound quality, I've since ordered some of the bi-wire version to hook up my wife's old Wharfdale speakers to another hi-fi amp we use to play music on our PC. The cables are very well-made and deliver good sound quality. Great service from Future Shop once again too. Recommended!

After following the online instructions when connecting the Bi/Wire to my amplifier and speakers, I didn't know what to expect as I have always previously opted for a cheap alternative to a proper sound system.
My amplifier and speakers are only basic, 40watts RMS. But once I connected the WiFi Radio to this system, the sound was noticeably clearer. For instance, I could distinguish a brush stroke on a low tom on a drum kit and this was only at ⅓ of max volume.
The cable must be making a huge difference, as I've only ever previously dealt with thin copper wire.

"This product was bought to replace cheap copper leads that were not properly terminated. The service provided by Futureshop was excellent and the product arrived in good time. This is a robust cable enclosed in good quality grey sheathing with a red stripe. Being quite heavy it sits flat on its run between amp and speakers. There was a choice of terminators: I had spade connectors at the speaker end and banana plugs at the amp end. They were well made with substantial rubber sheathing over the joints.
My speaker stands each have three steel columns, one of which has a hole at each end to allow the speaker cable to be passed up the column to the terminals, thus kept out of sight. Given the dimensions of cable and terminators, it was a bit of a struggle to draw the terminated end of the cable through the upper hole but I got there eventually.

These are absolutely fantastic speaker cables. I use them to connect my Mission Bronze 2 speaks with the Cambridge CXA60 amplifier. I feel/hear a very noticeable improvement in the audio quality in comparison to the cheap cables I used earlier. The build quality is top notch, and they are as thick as a pencil. Furthermore the quality of work of FutureShop folk who fixed the banana plugs at each is very good. I also opted for 48-hours of burn-in which they provide free of charge. Highly recommended speaker cables for any audiophile.
