In 1982 Sony gave us "Perfect sound forever," along with the attitude that, "it's just digital, so all CD players sound the same." That was disproved and qualitative differences between players became accepted truth. Next came separate transport and DAC combos, which brought with it the attitude that "all S/PDIF digital audio cables sound the same..." until that too became disproved. Now the frontier has moved once again. Is digital audio really just ones and zeros? We don't believe so, and once you've had a chance to listen to Cinnamon USB, you won't think so either...

Solid 1.25% Silver Conductors :
Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications, like USB audio. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality USB cables.
Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation :
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then later released as distortion. Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation ensures critical signal-pair geometry while minimizing insulation-induced phase distortion.
Gold-Plated Terminations :
Precision gold-plated plugs are carefully attached with the very best solder. Through choice of flux and metallurgy, AQ solder has been optimized to make a low-distortion connection. The difference you hear between solders is a result of connection quality. AQ solder does not have a high silver content because the more silver there is in solder, the more difficult it is to make a good connection.

For the Next Day Special Delivery service, orders must be received by futureshop.co.uk by 4.30pm weekdays. Orders after the 4.30pm deadline cannot be guaranteed for same day dispatch.

I am using this cable from a Toshiba hard drive into an Auralic Aries G2.1 streamer to play my music files. It is so better than the standard lead supplied with the drive .
In fact, it's stunningly better at portraying all aspects of the music and is improving as it's burning in.

Having only had this cable for 10 days, what follows is some first impressions.
I've only started to appreciate the benefits of a well-designed and insulated cable in the last couple of years. During that time, I've bought a couple of Graham Slee Audio offerings, both in the £100/£100+ price range. Each cleaned up the signal path from PC to DAC and DAC to headphone amp, resulting in a crisper, cleaner and more spacious sound, with a touch of sweetness and delicacy in the treble region. There is also a hint of mellowness and lightness of touch that's very pleasing.
The Cinnamon is mostly more of the same, which was evident from the first listen. Increased separation between instruments was immediately obvious. As with the Slees, this leads to more detail ‘popping into view’ and easier to place in the soundstage.
The reason I've docked a star is down to a touch of hardness in the sound at times, especially with treble. But these are still a first impressions and that may change.
Overall, this cable delivers most of the SQ improvement I first experienced with the Graham Slee Lauterus USB and CuSat50 interconnects at around half the price, so relatively speaking it looks decent value, especially if the perceived hardness of sound from time to time goes away or I become attuned to it.

Having already used AudioQuest HDMI cables exclusively in my Dolby Atmos home cinema set up, I ordered the USB cable to connect an external HDD to the system. Having gone through the order and payment process, I was contacted by Future Shop who informed me that the Cinnamon cable was unavailable so they offered an upgrade to the Carbon cable for the same price as the Cinnamon. This is excellent customer service and on that alone, I would highly recommend Future Shop.
The cable has certainly improved the audio and video quality with better detail in sound and vision so I would definitely recommend upgrading the standard USB cable when connecting a HDD as a source.
