For many applications, the speed of digital communication is important. Most visibly, “speed” is about transferring large files as quickly as possible, or carrying enough data for an HD video. For USB audio (and for HDMI audio), “speed” is critical not because of how-much how-fast, but because time relationships within a digital stream are critical to the reconstruction of the analog wave form that brings information, music and joy to our ears. Time-based damage (jitter) to this information within the data package makes the sound small and flat instead of 3D, harsh and foggy instead of smooth and clear.

Solid 5% Silver Conductors :
Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications, like USB audio. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality USB cables.
Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation :
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then later released as distortion. Solid High-Density Polyethylene Insulation ensures critical signal-pair geometry while minimizing insulation-induced phase distortion.
Multi-Layer Carbon-Based Noise and Crosstalk-Dissipation System
This cable's negative conductors are covered with partially conductive Carbon-Loaded Polyethylene. This remarkable material reduces radio-frequency garbage being fed back into the amplifier. The sonic benefit is exactly the same reduction in "hash" and improved dimensionality that comes whenever RF interference is reduced in an audio circuit. In addition, a carbon layer damps interaction between positive and negative conductors, and an external Carbon-Based NDS System reduces external interference.
Silver-Plated Terminations :
Precision direct-silver plated pins are carefully attached with the very best solder. Through choice of flux and metallurgy, AQ solder has been optimized to make a low-distortion connection. The difference you hear between solders is a result of connection quality. AQ Solder does not have a high silver content because the more silver there is in solder, the more difficult it is to make a good connection.

I purchased the Carbon to replace the " printer cable " I was using with my Audeze Deckard Headphone DAC/amp. I was always a bit sceptical about the benefits of using expensive cables, but in this case, I was rewarded with a considerable upgrade in the sound. Music was brought into sharp focus, and bass rhythms seemed to appear out of nowhere and were easy to follow.
Expensive, yes, but totally worth the investment. It gave my music collection and my hifi set-up a new lease on life.
A word of thanks to Futureshop for all their advice and prompt despatch of my Carbon USB C-B.
This is one product I would highly recommend. My only regret was not purchasing sooner.

Great cable. I connected my MacBook Air to my Pioneer DDJ-SR2 with this high-end USB-C to USB-B cable, and the sound quality improved noticeably.

There’s not much I can add to what I said about this cable in the lightning to USB-A version, which I bought for use with my iPad mini to connect via an FMJ jitterbug to my receiver.
Having used this one for nearly two weeks now, I can honestly say that the stereo imaging and musicality achieved are well worth the premium cost over the cinnamon versions of the same cables, as good as those are. I have this cable connected from my new ( refurbished) MacBook Pro 2021 via a Moon 230HAD to my preamp and use it to stream BBC’s Radio 3 and the new Prestoclassical streaming service.
The results, in my opinion, are outstanding, making it very hard for me to distinguish between original disc source (CDor SACD) and digital streaming. £149 for 0.75m May seem like a lot of money for a digital cable, but I’d like to bet that there are cables many times this cost which would not achieve this level of musicality.
Once again, I must thank Futureshop’s team for their excellent service. Long may they continue!

This was my first venture into high-end digital interconnects. My contact with Future Shop was entirely encouraging. And the cost was more moderate than I was expecting. But was I happy with the outcome? Well, in theory, I remain more naive than if I had tried four different leads. But on balance, that probably that might not have been that productive.
The sound of the Audioquest is darker and yet more detailed than I expected. Sung text can be clearly heard and understood on recordings I have owned in one form or another for 40 plus years.

Purchased to play around with iPad and Mac mini following launch of lossless on Apple Music. Connecting to Moon 240i integrated amp and DAC.
Initial results connected to the iPad weren't that great, but as of writing this is the only way to get hi-res out of the Apple music eco-system. So, a bit disappointed initially.
Then tried with the Mac mini (with output capped at 44.1khz) and... oh my!!!!! The improvement was immediate and gobsmacking.
Sound stage became both more open and smoother. Instantly more listenable, more involving, more enjoyable. Everything, even lo-fi recordings, are just so... musical is the best word I can think of.
The bright harshness on some recordings has gone. The bass is tighter, everything is more pronounced, more detailed and yet somehow warmer at the same time. This little cable is one of the best upgrades I've ever bought.

This cable is plugged into my Denafrips Pontus DAC, which in turn goes into my Hegel 190. I use it mainly to connect either my iPad Pro or my Astell & Kern SE200. What can I say... the cable’s construction seems solid and it works flawlessly with my set up.

Exceptional performance. This is, I think, one of the few USB cables with a type C termination (for current Macbooks), so avoids the use of adapter link. It also comes in a short length if required. I was using a far more expensive Chord USB cable – inflexible too – for high-res music downloads to Benchmark DAC and headphone amp.
The increase in detail resolution was further enhanced by Audioquest's SPDIF interconnect, which I immediately purchased! A strong recommendation and as usual excellent service from Future Shop
