To celebrate the launch of the Mavros Transponse Speaker Grun, Atlas are offering an incredible 50% discount off the Mavros Ultra L Grun 2 RCA to 2 RCA Cable. This offer is only available for a limited time so make sure you grab it while you can!
The Atlas Mavros Transpose Speaker Grun - Factory Terminated is a premium speaker cable designed to elevate your audio experience. Engineered with OCC copper conductors and an advanced microporous PTFE dielectric, it delivers unparalleled sound clarity, dynamic range, and musical precision. The cable's multi-core and solid-core construction ensures optimal signal transfer for single-wire, bi-wire, and bi-amping setups.
At the heart of its versatility is the Transpose Modular Termination System, which enables effortless switching between Z-plugs, spades, or expanding 4mm connectors. Precision cold-weld terminations guarantee a seamless, uninterrupted signal path, minimizing contact resistance for consistent performance. The Grun Coherent Earthing System actively reduces noise from RFI and EMI, enhancing stereo soundstage and fine detail while lowering the system's noise floor.
In the hands of Atlas' expert technicians, each cable undergoes rigorous quality control and includes a signed certificate of authenticity. The thoughtful combination of cutting-edge materials and precision craftsmanship makes the Mavros Transpose Speaker Grun an essential addition for discerning audiophiles and high-end audio enthusiasts seeking to maximize their system's potential.
In pursuit of ever-higher levels of performance, we‘ve revised our acclaimed Mavros speaker cable. Mavros has been a mainstay of our product lineup for some considerable length of time and has proven to be a reliably successful choice for an extremely wide range of equipment. Of course, given our policy of continuous improvement, it’s been progressively refined and finessed over the years, and this latest-generation Mavros offers substantial gains in sound quality.
The new design takes some cues from our remarkable Arran Speaker cable; in other areas it‘s a result of investigating how we could improve both the efficiency and overall build quality of the cable, both factors which we know yield audible benefits.
Firstly, the conductor topology has been refined; uniquely designed for single wire, bi-wire and bi-amping use, we’ve retained its combination of solid and stranded cores (same overall 2mm² as its predecessor) but in a slightly different configuration. (In the Bi-wire version, a single solid conductor is allocated to HF/Mid use whereas the stranded conductors are allocated to LF).
Next, a revision of the dielectric, with our customary — and exclusive — microporous PTFE composition, but now with improvements to geometric stability. Wrapped microporous PTFE has huge benefits in terms of open, natural and accurate sound, however increasing the amount to maintain the desired electrical parameters during manufacturing can affect the cable geometry, becoming non-concentric. The solution is to apply a thin but strong Polyethylene liner around the microporous PTFE during the manufacturing process.
Lastly, the precision of the final assembly; we’ve invested heavily in optimising our production process for consistency and efficiency, and it shows. The fit, finish and ‘feel’ of the cable in your hand are superb. Every cable is hand-made by a skilled Atlas technician, each of whom takes a great deal of pride in their work. An included signed certificate of authenticity identifies the person who built your cable.
This cable is fitted as standard with the Transpose Modular Termination System, which allows easy switching between Z (Gold or Silver 4mm Z-plug), S (Gold or Silver OCC spade) or E (Expanding plug versions as your requirements change. Expanding 4mm plugs are the standard configuration, please specify at time of purchase if you require an alternative connector. Alternative connector kits are available from your Atlas dealer.
Maximum flexibility. Optimum performance. Transpose speaker cables (in the Mavros , Arran and Asimi ranges) are fitted as standard with the Transpose Modular Termination System, which facilitates easy switching between expanding 4mm connectors, spade and Z-plugs as your requirements change.
With our Transpose Modular Termination System, the cable is factory-terminated with cold-weld connectors which accept a range of threaded inserts (the actual connector part of the plug). This gives the user the option to change from, for example, expanding 4mm plugs to spades simply by purchasing a set of Transpose spade adapters. The construction and finishing of our Transpose connectors is also vital to their performance. Plug pins and contacts are deep gold or silver-plated* to prevent oxidisation, which affects performance, and visible tarnishing. The priority is to minimise contact resistance, which is critical to consistent performance.
* Silver is a more efficient conductor than gold, but is both more expensive and prone to tarnishing. We silver-plate our Transpose Expanding connectors, and provide a silver polishing cloth for cleaning.
One of the biggest obstacles to achieving the performance levels our equipment is capable of is noise. Low levels of RFI (radio frequency) and EMI (electro-magnetic interference) and noise on the signal ground each subtly modulate and degrade the overall noise levels of the system.
Although our cables are all designed to minimise the invasion of external interference, it’s not possible to completely eliminate it. But the audible benefits of substantially reducing it via our Grun products are considerable. And the impact of Grun is cumulative. Adding additional Grun-enabled products reduces the impact of unwanted ‘noise’ still further.
Grounding critical components via the Grun system doesn’t alter the tonal balance or character of the system but audibly removes the effect of noise you probably didn’t realise was there. The result typically reveals a greater level of fine detail, enhanced stereo soundstage and an improved ‘ease’ and naturalness.
Analogue interconnects and speaker cables with Atlas Ultra L (Latik) RCA or Transpose speaker connectors are Grun-enabled as standard. Grun adapters are included as required with all relevant products; higher performance can be attained via our Grun power adapters, which can each be used with up to four products. This interference results in high-frequency ‘noise’ in the system, not in the conventional sense of audible hiss or hum, but affecting the noise floor — effectively reducing the overall dynamic range and clarity.
Install your Grun-enabled cable and attach the Grun adapter at both ends, using either the supplied spade tag or the Grun mains adapter if you have one (the latter is even more effective). Listen to a piece of music. Mute the sound, but don't alter the volume. Detach the Grun connector at the source end and listen again. With the Grun connection in place, typically vocals sound more natural with reduced sibilance, dynamic range is wider, and there‘s a ‘relaxed‘ quality, without affecting the perceived timing of the system. Try the same test again after a couple of weeks. You’ll likely find the difference with Grun even more pronounced.
Our objective is a smooth, uninterrupted signal path which behaves as one continuous entity, with the minimum of ‘breaks & barriers’ in the signal path.
We have invested in machinery to quickly and efficiently perform a number of the key stages in our manufacturing process, including precision-crimping of connectors on all types of cable. We also have a number of identically calibrated hand-tools — there are times when there’s no substitute for the experience of a skilled operator.
We firmly believe there should be the minimum of ‘breaks & barriers’ in the signal path. To this end for example, the pins on our connector plugs will typically be of the same material as the cable conductor, ie. a cable using a OCC Copper conductor will have OCC Copper signal pins.
We consider a precision-calibrated cold-weld connection (where physically possible) to be superior to soldered joints or screw connections. Solder typically introduces an unwanted material barrier and a degree of inconsistency. Screw terminations typically distort/damage the conductor and/or dielectric, adversely affecting the measured characteristics of the cable.
In a cold-weld (solder-free) connection, the metal of the connector plug and the wire are squeezed together under a calibrated pressure to form a robust, consistent, air-tight metal to metal contact with no deformation of the cable dielectric. The result is a smooth, uninterrupted signal path which behaves as closely as possible to one continuous entity.
Future Shop recommends the DeoxIT Gold G-Series contact enhancer to ensure the best possible connection between your systems.
DeoxIT Gold is carefully applied to the plug contacts of your cable and is a unique conditioning solution designed to improve conductivity and provide long-lasting protection on gold, base metals and other precious metal contacts and connections. DeoxIT Gold penetrates plated surfaces, molecularly bonding to the base metals to seal and protect both surfaces.
The benefits of applying DeoxIT gold are:
Please select this option from the above ‘Contact Enhancer’ drop-down menu, and our engineers will apply the contact solution to your cable connectors prior to shipping.
This cable is professionally terminated by Atlas Cables using Atlas's Modular Transpose Speaker plugs, available as gold-plated banana or spade, silver-plated banana or spade, or silver-plated expanding banana. Cables are professionally terminated using a cold-weld method by Atlas's engineers and guaranteed for 10 years. Cold-welding does not involve solder, which means the plug is crimped around the conductors at 360 degrees' under very high pressure to form an air-tight seal which prevents the conductors from oxidising. This forms a better contact than soldering. Furthermore, the conductor is in full contact with the plug, which is in 360-degree contact with the binding post of your equipment, which means the signal flow is maximised from the cable into your equipment.
From the dropdown menus' above, simply select the length of cable, the type of plugs required at the ‘Amplifier end’ and ‘Speaker end’ and click on the 'Add to Basket' button to add the item to your basket. Your cable will be dispatched as soon as the Atlas Cable engineers complete production, and we have completed the specified burn-in process (if any), subject to Future Shop’s Terms & Conditions and stock availability.
