Atlas Hyper 2.0 speaker cables are engineered with neutrality, speed and a wide dynamic range as primary design objectives. The Hyper 2.0 is a superb cable ideally suited for continuous listening over a prolonged period without causing listener fatigue.
Hyper 2.0 speaker cables feature very high purity (99.9999%) OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) 2.0mm² conductors with advanced PTFE (Teflon™) dielectric. The increased diameter conductors on the Hyper 2.0 offer improved bass performance over the 1.5 version. Atlas Gold Plated Z Plugs
The Atlas Z plug has stood the test of time. Using beryllium copper for the contact area, It's designed to make a 100% contact within the 4mm female socket. The body is made from copper, and it's available for home assembly with grub screws to make contact with the conductors. When factory-fitted or fitted by an Atlas-appointed custom cable centre, they're cold welded under pressure to amalgamate the conductors to the plug in an air-tight seal. The outer sleeve is finished in black coloured ABS or in a turned brass with a fine oven-applied powder coat finish. The Atlas Z plug is justifiably considered to be one of the best 4mm plugs available.

Atlas Achromatic Z Plugs
Atlas’s expert electro-mechanical knowledge has led to the innovation of the next generation of banana plugs known as the ‘Atlas Achromatic Z Plug’, Atlas has focused on improving performance to create a higher performance starting point for their speaker cables as well as eliminating variability in performance. This has been achieved by refocusing on materials and the assembly processes.
Atlas has made 4 key changes with the Achromatic Z plug. Firstly, the barrel of the Achromatic Z plug features a high stability ABS material. This is strong, stable and of superlative surface quality.
In addition, there is also an improvement to the plug's contact resistance achieved by improving the compliance of the beryllium copper contact leaves featured on the Achromatic Z plug. Beryllium copper offers excellent conductivity of signals.
The third change was to upgrade the manufacturability of the plug for pneumatic tool processing.
Finally, there is a reduction in the overall mass of the Z-Plug by 35%, which has been shown to improve signal transmission.
The above changes mean a solder-free, low mass, self-cleaning, recyclable Z-plug with a non-conductive body.
Oxygen Free Copper (OFC)
OFC is produced through an extrusion process which takes place in an oxygen-free-inert-gas atmosphere. This leads to a reduced oxygen content (10 ppm) when compared to Tough Pitch Copper (TPC) and an improvement in conductivity which typically measures in at between 0.5% and 2% greater than TPC. The OFC process therefore produces a much higher quality audio cable than the TPC process. High purity conductors sound clearer than their unprocessed (TPC) counterparts because there are fewer crystal boundaries present to cause signal degradation.

PTFE Dielectric
PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) is cheap to produce and, as such, is the most commonly used insulation in AV cables. However, PVC is the worst quality insulation a Hi-Fi or AV signal can encounter as its high loss causes a significant reduction in signal velocity. PVC is better suited to power cables and should be avoided in Hi-Fi and AV signal cables.
Other dielectrics in common use are Polyethylene, Polypropylene and Polytetrafluoride Epoxy (better known as PTFE (Teflon™) or Teflon,) and the new and unique Atlas (PTFE).
PTFE (Teflon™) is usually applied at higher temperatures and in combination with OFC conductors. OCC materials don’t like high temperatures (soldering, applying the dielectric etc) so application of a low temperature PTFE (Teflon™) or FEP work best with OCC conductors. This is especially critical at smaller conductor sizes.
The table below shows the properties of a selection of dielectrics. Though not used as a dielectric in Atlas' cables, PVC is included for comparison purposes.

Termination
This cable is custom-made according to customer's specific requirements as selected by the various dropdown options above. Future Shop can terminate your speaker cable using the Atlas Achromatic Z Plugs (Banana/BFA), the Atlas’ Gold Plated 4mm banana/BFA Z-Plugs or gold-plated spade Plugs. Cables are professionally terminated using a cold-weld method by Future Shop's engineers and guaranteed for ten years. The plugs are put on using a cold weld method with an official tool supplied by Atlas. Cold-welding does not involve solder, which means the plug is crimped around the conductors at 360 degrees' under very high pressure to form an air-tight seal, which prevents the conductors from oxidising. This forms a better contact than soldering. Furthermore, the conductor is in full contact with the plug, which is in 360-degree contact with the binding post of your equipment, which means the signal flow is maximised from the cable into your equipment.
How to Order

These cables are awesome for music they're similar to rocket 22 in sound and neutrality/warmth but the latter is much smoother, I use hyper for music and rocket for theatre but would not recommend them for the opposite things.
Go for the hyper 3.5 to save Futureshop and yourself the hassle of exchanges if you have a large room, or you don't want your amplifier to work as hard as it will save some head room. A small room should be fine with these however. The hyper 2.0 is also slightly lacking in bass I found also, whereas the 3.5 has more balance throughout. Hyper is great for low noise and black background.

Having recently set up a second system with a pair of Quad monoblock amplifiers powering Dynaudio standmounters, I was stumped for the choice of a synergistic speaker cable. The monoblocks' minor flaw is a slight forwardness to the lower treble. Trying the very revealing Ecosse MS2.3 from the main system underlined that roughness too much and also made the monoblocks' 220 watts per channel @ 4 ohms seem too full on and unrelenting.
Being a happy user of Atlas Interconnects, I gave this Hyper 2.0 a try. The result is a lovely synergy, helped also by the Hyper Integra interconnect in the system. The Hyper 2.0 follows Atlas' creed of making designs that invite long-term listening with no listening fatigue. With this speaker cable, one's ears are drawn to events going on in the midrange. It is very spacious and reveals the rich tonalities of instruments occurring in this region. Orchestral strings and woodwinds are a delight to listen to, as are jazz instruments and higher voices. When the music gets busy, the spaciousness remains intact making it very easy to hear the interplay amongst the players. I really rate this cable's ability to let me fully hear the beautiful rosin tones of violins.
I read a review that compared the Hyper 2.0's bigger sibling the Hyper 3.5 with Ecosse MS2.3 and commented on a lack of details. I feel this is not so, The MS2.3 packs a mighty punch at the frequency extremes and really thrusts fine details out. The Hyper 2.0 is quite as revealing but sets the fine details back. Swapping between these two, it is a matter of adjustment for the ears.
With regards to bass, the Hyper 2.0 does not shortchange my Dynaudios which are 47Hz (-3dB).The power and fullness are all there when required. As per Atlas own recommendation, the Hyper 3.5 would be the choice to elicit the deeper bass from floorstanders, while the 2.0 is just right for quality standmounters. I would agree.
The only caveat with the Hyper 2.0's bass performance comes with very rapid synthesizer bass lines. When there is a long sequence of them, they recede a little into the background while the midrange dominates. So, perhaps not the top choice for this genre. With orchestral timpani or jazz bass lines, there is no issue.
In all, a very musical speaker cable. Thanks again to Future Shop for the quick shipping and the flawless fit and finish of my set,

Great sound. I owned a 2.0 biwire and upgraded the mid/low by adding a 2.0 single wire. I have a powerful amp with big speakers. The sound is more powerful and more bass.

The Hyper 2.0 was recommended to me by the guys from FUTURESHOP and I'm glad that I followed their advice. It replaces a much more expensive bi-amp design and it rivals and even surpasses my former (now for sale) cable in many ways. I use it between a Musical Fidelity M6si and a pair of Mission 783's. I'm enjoying my set-up more then I have ever done before. I bet that anyone would have to dig deep in their pckets to surpass this gem. Even balanced presentation, good extension, very good resolution, no-nonsense construction. Recommended!!!

Before them were cheap "QED original high performance". When volume was level low sound wasn't so clean as now. And generally these Atlas Hyper 2.0 more more better than my old cables. I bought them for my Spendor A3 and I'm enjoying sound.

Smooth speaker cable. A good smooth speaker cable which has had similar effects on two different sets of pmcs - Twenty 23 and twenty5 23s. Unfortunately for me it wasn’t the right balance of bass and treble in my system, but I’d recommend this cable to those who want to tame treble and maybe have a bright sound or bright amps or speakers.

Bought this cable to use with my new MF5Si amp after much discussion with the helpful Adam. I wanted to create slightly warm sound on my upgrading of system after 20 years. Looked at Chord and QED and settled on the Atlas after much consideration and had 72 hour burn in before dispatched. I changed from QED and the has brought a new "musicality" to my equipment.
Unfortunately, with the new cable and the new amp, it's told me it's time to upgrade the speakers - nothing wrong with them and they are sounding like they've never sounded before but you just get the feeling there is so much more to come from the amp/cable combination. appreciate Adam's guidance in making the decision. sound is still improving!!

I recently purchased this Atlas speaker cable to complement my Marantz PM6006 and CD6006 UK edition system. This cable does a commendable job to get the best out of the components of my equipment. The Atlas Hyper 2.0 speaker cable has proved to be an excellent choice of cable in my current system of Exposure 3010 series amp and PMC Twenty 21 speakers providing good levels of detail and well controlled bass in my small listening room.

I tried several mid-range cables, lately the QED Classic lines. The Atlas Hyper 2.0 is a huge, huge step upwards. I could not really use the "tone defeat" button on my NAD amplifier with my Dali speakers, because the system simply did not produce enough bass, it was always too bright. Now it has changed. Great balanced sound, natural and smoothly clear, the soundstage became more open. Fantastic purchase, great company, thank you Gary for your advise! Highly recommended to anyone as a final upgrade before replacing speakers and amps.

This is a very good cable, neutral and bit on the bright side with very good image and dynamics, Gary from Futureshop recommended this cable and it is a clear step up from Qed xt40 or Wireworld solistice 7. I personally prefer neutral tone with expressive highs so this cable is very good for my taste. I am using it in my rega brio and rega rx1 speakers system and it is very good combination. Its a balance cable, smooth sounding at mid/high frequencies and not missing out in bass too. With very good imaging and open sound, Before this, I was using Belden 1810 (4 conductors) speaker cable (2 conducters twisted together and use it as single wire) with diagonal connection at the speaker end. Overall improvement is on its smoothness and slightly cleaner sound. I considered a very good buy at this price. Recommended.

I am using Musical Fidelity MA65 power amps and Mission 751 speakers ( yes I know this is old kit ) .When I tried this cable I found the sound stage is a lot better presented and a lot more treble detail that just wasn't there before . The previous speaker cable I had been using was not a budget one by any means ,this counts as one of my best hi-fi upgrades ever . The cable might look like it came off a hairdryer but it works very well ,highly recommended .
