This is my first step into the higher grade of audio cables. A friend of mine has good experience with Atlas so he recommended the brand to me. My amplifier has very narrow cable terminals so anything bigger then 2.5 is a no go. So my eyes fell on the Equator 2.0 cable. Ordering was easy, the available options are very useful. I ordered my cable with the amp end already stripped and the speaker end with the Atlas Z-Plugs. Since burn-in was also available i chose that option as well. And it's free of charge! Can't say no to that.
Waiting for the cables.. didn't know what to expect. At first when i opened the package i saw a very thick and nicely finished cable. The plugs were fitted perfectly and the whole setup looked rigid and ready to go. Hooked up to my vintage Yamaha M-4 poweramp and Philips FB825 speakers. Wow.. what a difference that made. My original speaker cable was just some cheap brandless 2.5mm OFC from the local hardware store.
The moment i switched to the Equator i heard details in the high notes that i've never heard before. And the low frequency.. Wow! What an impact that bass has right now... Never knew a cable can do so much to the musical experience. I am satisfied to the max! Great cable! From now on, i will order every cable i need from Atlas.

Atlas Equator 2.0 Speaker Cable.
An ideal cable for small speakers and/or a system which is slightly bright. It gives a very full sound - it seemed as though my small speakers (Q Acoustics 1020i) had been replaced by larger ones with no trace of brightness.
I had previously used Audioquest FLX-SLiP 14/4 cable in bi-wire mode (which incidentally I subsequently found out is not recommended by Audioquest). Initially I found the 14/4 excellent but later on I was left wanting more weight with some tracks.
Connecting the Atlas cable to my speakers (including the Q Acoustics jumpers) raised an interesting issue. A cleaner more dynamic sound was obtained by connecting the positive cable to the base unit positive terminal and the negative cable to the base unit negative terminal, instead of connecting diagonally using a treble unit terminal. [Using the former rather than the later would have given the QED XT40 cable 4/5 instead of 3/5 when I reviewed it. The XT40 gives a similar full sound but is not as good as the Atlas].

I purchased the Atlas Equator 2.0 after being impressed with the open neutral sound of the Entegra III interconnects.
Even before the Equator cable had time to burn in the sound was already cleaner, natural and more detailed than I'd experienced since initially using just the Entegra III interconnects. All this for two thirds less than the price of my existing Kimber 4PR speaker cable, which by comparison is a bit on the bright side and uncomfortable on the ears during a prolonged listen.

I thoroughly recommend this speaker cable to anyone wanting a natural, clean and detailed sound with no colouration.

2. I'm stll waiting for the speakers and so far cannot have any opinion on the matched result.
3. In fact, I was hesitating between this and QED XTC or XT40, since I do have excellent previous experience with QED Silver Anniversary speaker cables.
Will add my impressions after few hours of listening to new Tannoy Mercury V1, or Montor Audio Bronze2 or Boston A26.

Having been dissapointed with my previous choice of speaker cable, Future Shop recommended these cables and what a difference. These were exactly what I was looking for. They seem to suit my Minx min 21's and I can't stop listening to them. There is loads detail and imaging is excellent. Even at low volumes, the sound expands into the room and at higher volumes, it's just amazing. I'm listening to tracks from start to finish which I'd previously got bored with. I'm hearing things I've not heard before and music is making much more sense. Everything sounds more realistic. There seems to be a good balance between the amount of detail available and how much the image is projected and this gives a good sense of realism. How a budget cable can make such a difference I don't know, but when I need new interconnects, I'll be looking at Atlas cables from Future Shop.

Communication with the seller was very good, shipping precise and very fast (4 days to Italy!). The description of the product you want to do is really extraordinary. I am satisfied and would recommend the purchase of Atlas to you all!!
Atlas Equator 2.0 return a dry sound and precise. The details of the records emerge from the bottom and reach our ears.
The low, before a little 'bloated and boomy, with Atlas are dry and precise and are always checked and warm. They are definitely neutral wires and make the recordings authentic, leaving unaltered the quality of great recordings and great!
The voices are very realistic, measured, warm and not at all shrill.
If you love the great Jazz and want to really listen to what the musicians have been affected, I suggest you try to listen to your music with these "amazing" cables.
