Ohno Continuous Casting Copper (OCC Copper)
The Ohno continuous casting method re-heats the extrusion as the molten copper is forced out of the mould and very slowly and gradually draws the grain or crystal down the conductor''s length, creating a ‘single crystal structure.’ Actually, because no copper is 100% pure, there will always be a few boundaries produced by impurities. The frequency of boundaries created are quite insignificant. A typical crystal in a copper conductor drawn to 0.3 mm diam. using the OCC process is 125.00 metres long!
The benefits are obvious, with almost no crystal boundaries, the audio signal is no longer impeded down the copper wire and more information and detail is delivered faithfully to the receiving equipment.

PEF Dielectric
PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) is cheap to produce and, as such, is the most commonly used insulation in AV cables. However, PVC is the worst quality insulation a Hi-Fi or AV signal can encounter as its high loss causes a significant reduction in signal velocity. PVC is better suited to power cables and should be avoided in Hi-Fi and AV signal cables.
Other dielectrics in common use are Polyethylene, Polypropylene and Polytetrafluoride Epoxy (better known as PTFE (Teflon™) or Teflon,) and the new and unique Atlas (PTFE).
PEF (Foamed Polyethylene). The foaming process uses a blowing agent, of which there are two types. Atlas use the gas-foamed method which creates a more inert, consistent and higher quality product.
The table below shows the properties of a selection of dielectrics. Though not used as a dielectric in Atlas' cables, PVC is included for comparison purposes.

Very smooth, detailed neutral cable.
This is the cheapest way to improve sound. I requested 96 hour burn in and, out of the box, the sound is very smooth, detailed, neutral sound. The mids and highs sounds so good without any harsh/agressive sound. The bass is tigh, detailed and controlled but lacks authority. With more 3 days burn in in my home the bass authority improves. I think this cable needs about 150 hours of burn in to unlock full potencial. Before this i tested qed reference audio 40 in the same system but i dont like it(very agressive bright sound).

The interconnects arrived on time (actually slightly earlier than promised, I recall).
Straight from replacing my previous interconnects, which were for AV amplifier front pre-outs to my hi-fi preamplifier, they exhibited a smooth, detailed and controlled "view" of the music played. I have also recently bought higher level Atlas interconnects and am impressed by their ability to expose the signal but not overplay the high and low extremities and to portray the complexity/simplicity of the music, as appropriate.

I am using the original atlas element integra interconnect with a kenwood kaf 1030 amplifier a teac cdp1260 mk ii cd player and tannoy eclipse 2 speakers usindg chord c screen speaker cable.
I was happy enough with the sound I was getting from my system but having read the reviews about the atlas integra superior sounding much better boy the reviews are not wrong! The sound stage is a lot wider the detail is a lot crisper I could not be happier.
I'm glad I took the plunge to upgrade to the atlas integra superior I ordered from futureshop on Monday afternoon and the cable was delivered by Tuesday morning now that is what I call custermer service!

Decent, well-balance budget cable with high C/P. I bought this cable as an upgrade to the Atlas Element Integra. I use this cable to connect a Schiit headphone amp / preamp to a DIY SE 6V6 tube amp. I don't have the old cable at hand and cannot compare them directly but I think that the Element Superior Integra sounds richer.
I would say this is a neutral and well-balanced cable with decent dynamics, considering its price. Lows are not heavy but tuneful, with bouncing drums and bass-lines (Bill Evans "Waltz for Debby"). Mids are neither prominent nor recessed, though vocals are not as creamy, resonant and seductive as better cables like the Audio Note ISIS, they stay clear and pleasant. Highs are not harsh and have enough extension, violins sing well.
It's a decent enough cable for playing jazz, piano, classics, pop and rock. It passes the test of playing live records like "My Favorite Things: Coltrane at Newport" and "The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfiled and Al Kooper", reproducing the fervour of live occasions, though not quite the hallucination of being "in there".
Recommended budget cable for delivering musical satisfaction.

Having finally got my first quality budget hifi set up - A Rotel ra10 integrated amp, Rotel cd12 and Kef q100 bookshelf speakers. I wanted to see if i could improve the sound further with an interconnect upgrade from the monster 250 cable i had. I looked at reviews online and thought this Atlas Element Superior cable would suit my system and budget . I also have a rega p3 tuntable and was after a smoother vinyl like sound from my cds. They sounded a bit thin but detailed with the monster cable in comparison .
Had the Atlas a few days now and first impressions are good. The sound is a lot smoother, the highs, mids and lows are all there without one of them being to forward in the mix and becoming tiresome. I forgot to take advantage of the free cable burn in but this cable still sounds clearer and smoother.
Even the wife agrees! I may upgrade my speaker cable next, Adam at Futureshop has recommended the Atlas equator 2 so I may try that.
