Aircore Technology™
QED cables above 2.5mm2 cross sectional area utilise air core technology to obviate the skin effect by bundling several separately insulated smaller cores together to make up a larger CSA. If these conductors are arranged around a hollow central core of polyethylene the self inductance exhibited by the cable can be reduced to around half that predicted by calculation.

Construction
Starting from the inside, Genesis Silver Spiral comprises two grouped bunches of conductors. Each Group is made up of nine individually insulated silver plated 99.999% Oxygen Free Copper cores twisted around two central fillers (one red, one white) in QED's special spiral geometry to minimise sound-degrading "proximity effect".
Silver Plated OFC provides greater conductivity than copper alone and delivers superb resolution and delicacy, especially when used as part of a high end system. All elements of the dielectric, including the thin, low density conductor insulation, are Polyethylene (a material with a low dielectric constant and an ability to dramatically reduce signal leakage).
The grouping geometry reduces inductance between conductors, thus minimising field effect distortions. Aluminium mylar tape separates the twisted conductors and the translucent PVC jacket provides a tough protective flexible outer cover.

- Cable Compatibility: We regret to inform you that we cannot burn-in cables with stripped bare ends or BFA plugs. In order for cables to undergo the burn-in process, they should be terminated or have connectors.
- Timing: Cables will be burnt in for the selected period after processing your order. For custom-length cables, the burn-in process will occur after they have been terminated by the manufacturer or our engineers unless specified otherwise in the product description.
- Availability: Future Shop provides our cable burn-in service free of charge, but its availability is at our discretion. While we strive to fulfil all burn-in requests for the specified time periods, please understand that during exceptionally busy periods, we may be unable to meet the demand due to limited connections on the Nordost Vidar cable conditioning machines.
The Nordost VIDAR cable burn-in machine integrates three key functions into one operation:
- Charge Neutralisation: It eliminates charges that accumulate around the cables and their insulation, ensuring a more balanced electrical environment.
- Deep Conditioning: The machine provides a wide band and deep conditioning process that affects the conductor core, resulting in changes to the signal transmission through the metal. This deep conditioning enhances the cable's performance.
- Ultrasonic Surface Conditioning: The VIDAR machine utilizes ultrasonic waves to condition the surface of the conductors, optimizing their contact and overall conductivity.
The VIDAR employs a proprietary combination of composite and complex signals to condition the cables. Bi wire, Airloc crimp bananas at speaker and solder bathed at monoblocs' end. Just an experiment if successful, will remain in the second system. I do my own burn-in around 200 hours, so no thorough appraisal as it has big shoes to fill.
Initial impression? Brittle, like um, silver; reminded me of fresh Van Den Hul professional microphone cable; bright, air, like a positioned rehearsal, prior to the serious takes.
We aren't done yet, let's see where this goes.

I use it on my tube amp + Full range speaker.
Compared with my QED SIGNATURE Revelation speaker cable, the Treble has improved. However, I feel the bass is weaker than usual. I know most of the QED cables take a lot of time to burn-in.

I bought a 1-metre cable for my MA c350 centre. I’ve yet to fit it and make any sound comparisons to the Silver Anniversary in place. The Airloc plugs are fitted well, as are the heat shrunk collars.
The whole feel of the product is premium, and once satisfied the sound improvements are tangible, I won’t hesitate to upgrade my main fronts with the bi-wired version. Now, time to order the jumpers for the centre to complete that job…

Bigger sound stage

These cables gave my system a bigger sound stage with more separate presentations and more weight to the bass. However, I did find that everything sounded a bit washed out, like all the instruments were being played further away. I have just added a better power cable to my amp, which has given better focus to the music with a cleaner sound. So this has taken away most of the washed-out sound and sharpened everything up, so I’m happy with the sound now.
Two main things with this cable to bear in mind, this cable is not very flexible, so if you are tight for space, then this may not be the answer. Also, If your system is bright sounding already, then this cable will increase that.

You hear a lot of talk about this cable hooked into the latest state of the art hifi system…. Well, I’m going to break the norm , the system I hooked these speaker cables to is a 1990’s technics high-end hifi system with technics CS-5S speakers … not known for the outstanding quality of sound …until you hook these Genesis speaker cables to it.,
Firstly the bass was deeper but with clarity, the treble is tight and smooth sounding and the highs were perfect- these cables are amazing, they have transformed quite a dull average sound into something special. I’m not tired of listening to the sound these cables can produce , I also opted for the 96 hr burn-in . These are well worth the money.
Once again thanks to Future shop for an effortless transaction and delivery.

I have a relatively high end system, Krell amp and Wilson Benesch speakers at the core, I felt things were a bit dulled at the low end and low mids, I played around with various cables replacing the £800 pair I usually used and decided to try the QED Genesis Spirals, luckily a friend had a pair so he popped them over.
We initially listened to a Shpongle track "Botanical Dimensions", lots of layers with huge dynamics and a complex mix, it sounded quite good with the old cables, we popped the Spirals in and it was an OMG moment, we looked at each other and said that's rather different, so much more openness, bass better controlled and detail, mids were there in glorious detail, and the soundstage just opened up, I could now hear things that were being masked before.
We could not quite believe the improvement we were hearing so we swapped back and forth several times listening to different track, and each time I just grinned. Don't waste money on silly expensive cables, these are great bang for your £'s. I purchased QED Genesis Spiral speakers cables and jumpers.

The QED Genesis Silver Spiral Cable replaced my 25 year old Aparture 4+4 solid silver cable. What a upgrade it was . Simply stunning. Very detailed sound but not clinically sterile. Mid ranges are floating in the air and all in the correct places. Fast and detailed bass. Those cables let me "look" into the music way deeper than anything i heard before. Value for money? Yes they sure are. Anything close to this cable costs way more.

It is a replacement from the company's lower model, but you can get improved resolution and thickness over the entire area. Although there are some problems with the flexibility of the cable, I am very satisfied with the sense of security as a product obtained by the solid AIRLOC processing.

I purchased the Genesis silver spiral to replace Chord Sarsen cable I was using. The difference is night and day. My streamer is a Naim Atom driving Monitor Audio Silver 200 speakers. The sound has been transformed, more detailed with excellent sound stage and increased bass, especially noticeable at lower volumes. The Atom has never sounded so good!

I upgraded from QED revelation cables to QED silver spiral and was wondering if it was money well spent prior to trying them out. (law of diminishing returns vs more money spent)
Well I can say that they are a significant upgrade over the already good QED revelation speaker cable - more detail, wider soundstage & just an all round better sound. These cables really let my system shine.
