a good cable made the sound improved. however, the rewireable IEC connector is a bit loosen with my Cyrus pre-amp.

Outstanding mains cable, in the hi fi world clean mains is a must, so how does it sound, pretty good, transparency is first rate bass is taut, midrange expansive treble sweet, in short it introduces a more smooth analogue sound.

Hi I have a £200 merlin power cable and this new Merlin cable Tarantual mk6 sounds better Than the dearer product.. So it is well worth it and a bargain price. The earlier Tarantual was a 5 star what hi fi winner.

I don't know how those guys did the magic, but the cable works as described. Way much better detail and focus of soundstage than the bundled mains cable. I see no point to stay skeptical and you should buy one to see what I mean. Lastly, nice thing costs money. This pricier Merlin Tarantula sounds better than a bit lower-cost Cu Axxxx One counter part to me.

I believe my original opinion regarding power cable upgrades was much the same as most peoples, skeptical. But having just received my Merlin Tarantula cable and given it a thorough comparison to the original cable supplied with my Rotel RA-12 amp I simply can not believe the improvement. Any doubters out there, try one and become an advocate. : )

I've spent some serious money over the years on hi-fi and was always sceptical about the difference a metre of mains cable could make given the miles of cable the electricity has to travel to get to my house. I bit the bullet and ordered 5 of these, one for each of the Cyrus components I have and all I can say is I'm glad I did! I loved the sound before the upgrade but there's now a coherence to the sound that simply didn't exist before, im not sure how to describe it but everything sounds - bigger and it's not subtle, either. I'm not clued up on the science and physics of these things and can only conclude that these cables are sorting out an issue with my power supply, but all that doesn't matter, right? I'm now getting a more engaging sound from my hi-fi and I'm chuffed with it (until the upgrade itch appears again!). Ordered Thursday afternoon, arrived on Friday. Great service, free postage too.

I bought these cables to tweak Yamaha hifi system with its sharpness. After two weeks of use I can say that the sound became much cleaner and smoother. I can state it's a worthwhile improvement.

Can't compare with other replacement mains cables, just with manufacturers' standard supplied ones. Connected to mains supply via a 6-way Tacima mains conditioner. Physical quality of this Merlin cable and its construction is beyond reproach. I bought a set of these for my TV, BD player and AV amp. Most surprising difference is that on the TV, same channel, same programme, no other cables touched, the picture immediately looks sharper and more natural. Was not expecting that! Listening to a familiar surround sound SACD (Vivaldi violin concertos) on Denon BD player through Denon AV amp (again no other cables touched), and, while I was previously never aware of anything wrong, I now find that instead of just listening to an excellent recording of wonderful music I now have a chamber orchestra in my room! I am sceptical, because I find it difficult to believe what my eyes and ears are telling me. But since my eyesight has not suddenly improved, nor my hearing, all I can say is that the improvements can only be attributed to the Merlin cables. So for £135 I have upgraded my whole AV system!
