"True-Concentric" is an industry-standard term for when each layer of strands in a concentric conductor is spiralled in the opposite direction from the layer below, eliminating the lines of contact between the layers, and increasing contact pressure at the points of contact. The downside is much more machine time and higher cost – the upside is a better sound you can hear. Both the SureGrip 100 and SureGrip 300 Banana plugs utilise a stronger base metal, Beryllium Copper, offering higher tensile strength and superior sound to phosphor bronze found on many banana plugs. The SureGrip 100 and SureGrip 300 Spade plugs utilise higher purity Purple Copper which provides cleaner and clearer sound when compared to standard copper or brass used in other "premium" connectors.

The differences between the SureGrip 100s and SureGrip 300s can be found in the amount on metal used in the construction of the plug. The SureGrip 300 uses substantially more metal in the connector compared to the SureGrip 100 resulting in a superior connection between the conductors, the connector and your system.

The coppers of the connector, just as in the speaker cable itself can lend to the cable sounding more detailed, wider soundstage, lowering of the noise floor and protection of the raw conductors. These benefits increase step by step as you progress higher up the series from the Suregrip 100 Beryllium Copper plugs to the Series 1000 Red Copper banana plugs. The plating process also changes as you move up the series, resulting in a thicker and more durable plating.

  • Cable Compatibility: We regret to inform you that we cannot burn-in cables with stripped bare ends or BFA plugs. In order for cables to undergo the burn-in process, they should be terminated or have connectors.
  • Timing: Cables will be burnt in for the selected period after processing your order. For custom-length cables, the burn-in process will occur after they have been terminated by the manufacturer or our engineers unless specified otherwise in the product description.
  • Availability: Future Shop provides our cable burn-in service free of charge, but its availability is at our discretion. While we strive to fulfil all burn-in requests for the specified time periods, please understand that during exceptionally busy periods, we may be unable to meet the demand due to limited connections on the Nordost Vidar cable conditioning machines.

The Nordost VIDAR cable burn-in machine integrates three key functions into one operation:

  1. Charge Neutralisation: It eliminates charges that accumulate around the cables and their insulation, ensuring a more balanced electrical environment.
  2. Deep Conditioning: The machine provides a wide band and deep conditioning process that affects the conductor core, resulting in changes to the signal transmission through the metal. This deep conditioning enhances the cable's performance.
  3. Ultrasonic Surface Conditioning: The VIDAR machine utilizes ultrasonic waves to condition the surface of the conductors, optimizing their contact and overall conductivity.

I bought Rocket 11 cable to replace my QED XT40 cable (original type), which I found an upgrade over a thick copper generic cable at the time. I was not expecting the huge improvements to the system that this new cable has brought to my system. After installing the cable, I found its performance was a bit underwhelming & almost disappointing (I did not request the burn-in).

After approximately 20 hours of use, I experience: -

Much improved clarity & more detail revealed soundstage & Image are both broader and deeper. Bass is now great, and the treble is much improved with higher frequencies. I also hear the room's acoustics and any echo that could not be detected before.

My core system is Rega Planar3 (1988) /Rega Exact cartridge / Rega mm phono / Marantz PM6006 UK Amplifier / Q Acoustics 3020 speakers. Also, Marantz CD6006 UK. When playing my CDs, I hear much the same improvements but ….. The somewhat disappointing sound before the cable upgrade now has got the same benefits as above.

I have purchased from Futureshop several times before and have always found their service helpful in advice & delivery has always been very fast. I will continue to use them when needed.

Ran in some new Dali Oberon 5's out of a NAD C370 amp on a quality QED cable for 100 hours. I started to worry - Midrange great, Tweeter way too forward, Lower Bass missing. I had already ordered the AudioQuest Rocket 11 Speaker Cable. I hooked it up on arrival (burnt in), and - instant Karma!

My ears stopped fighting the speakers and found the music - all the frequencies nicely balanced, the Bass back, and most noticeably, the sound staging moved from linear to three-dimensional - REAL DEPTH.

Playing a reference CD of Sade, I would have proposed marriage if she had ACTUALLY been in the room!

For me, this cable punches well above its weight.

After years of listening to my “old” Krell amp driving a pair of Thiel 3.6 I thought I needed to upgrade my amp. I noticed a little lack of “punch”, a bit too smooth.

I decided to get a pair of ps m700, and for that, I thought it was a good idea to update speaker cables as well. I got the Audio Quest Rocket 11 before the amps, and burned for 49 hrs. I could not believe the positive effect in the quality of sound, to the point of making me wonder if only the cables would be needed to make the trick. I am serious, huge improvement.

Regarding Futures Shop service, only one word. Excellent. It is a shame I would not try their return policy, at this point it is more likely I will return my unheard new amps!

These cables are superb; they seem to let more detail through with the system's sound, tighten up the bass, and help define the position of instruments and voices in the sound stage. Those who don't believe should hear these! It's almost like having a new component in your system. Chord Clearway X are also excellent, but I prefer these, Chord is smoother, but these let that extra detail through without sounding fatiguing.

Exceptional level of customer service and courtesy from Futureshop, a rare thing in today's world. Please make the most of it, I'd say!

I couldn't be happier, read the reviews and crossed my fingers. Wow, just wow. I was running these on a 32-year-old Technics mini-system with Bi-amp and Bi-wiring and only bookshelf speakers with spring clamp terminals.

Sound has gone from muddy and thin to a complete soundscape, hearing nuances and detail I've never heard in my own music. Bass is tighter, highs are clear, and the mids just ad texture that was never there before.

Balanced overall and still delivers at higher volumes. Excellent value.

Good quality, although the cable shield is marked as 17AWG and they are heavy & quite thick, they're easy and versatile for laying. I connected them between Yamaha A4A & Polk R100 and S35, and the result is excellent sound quality.

I am satisfied with these cables.

I thought the cables couldn't possibly be as good as the other reviews said they were. They are.

Sampling some of my early Joni Mitchell, I was blown away by the clarity and precision of the acoustic guitars and, mainly, the vocals (and I had pretty good cables before) the Rocket connects added. I'd just purchased the remastered Beatles albums (Revolver to Let It Be) and found a whole fresh level of enjoyment of the music as every nuance of the original masters was presented (I had bought QA 3010s - which I can't praise too highly), so I think I have a winning budget price combo.

Get these cables - you won't be disappointed.

I soldered to gold plated copper banana plugs and put heat shrink tubing over the solders for a nice neat and maintenance-free connection (used a high powered soldering iron, about 350 Deg I think it was that worked best.
I'm sure the optional supplied plugs are fine too.

My last system was very bright, so I had tamed it with cheap OFC cable from a DIY shop barely larger than bell wire. This was just right for that system, but on upgrading to a Sugden, the sound was incredibly dull; time to get proper cable again. These cables bring out every detail and such a wide sound stage. Clean large scale from top to bottom. So unbelievably different and better.

These would have been good with my old system too. Previously and recently with my Sugden, I have used QED classic cables and never liked them. Hard, brittle sound though full scale. The Rocket 11's are just so much better right from the start and seem to be getting better the more I listen.

I can now hear micro dynamics in the vocals and how instruments are played much more. I can listen to the production of the song. GREAT.

I purchased a role of generic AWG 12 speaker cable role and was somewhat underwhelmed.

Read a million reviews and settled on Rocket 11 as the optimal compromise with the 96-hour burn-in requested. It arrived the next day, which was fantastic. Was it pre burnt in? Possibly, I have no way of knowing. Anyway, the difference is night and day. So well chuffed. If you’re wondering, do it!

I was more than a bit sceptical about upgrading my speaker cables, given the cost of doing this. BUT I have to say the sound is excellent, and there is a discernible difference in quality.

The sound feels a lot more alive! The Future Shop provided a great service, quick and well packaged. The build quality is perfect as well.

I ordered AudioQuest cables for my new Hi-Fi setup. I was unsure speaker wire I had from my previous systems was up to the task. The cables were cut and finished to my specs. I was amazed at the great clarity and superior bass-to-treble frequency extension the cable was able to produce! My order was for a pair of 3.5m of custom length!

Though the cables are quite heavy but very easy to manage. I was looking to optimize the performance of my hi-fi system, the Rocket 11 was the answer! (Vintage Yamaha AX-570 coupled to B&W 603 s3).

Goods arrived in Hong Kong fairly quick by ordinary mail (£4.99) considering the Covid situation.
